Features :
Nice and simple wafer transducers that can be configured by the manufacturer with 2.5mm, 3.5mm, plug ends or a 1/4" jack. This is a passive style pickup but the signal from it is pretty hot. Can run directly into a guitar amp or PA.

Instrument :
I installed this pickup in two guitars, an Alvarez MD90C and a Wechter 5714 Elite Jumbo. No modifications to the guitars were required. The 3.5mm plugs inserted directly into inputs on the two preamps. If I had been replacing the UST's I would have had 2.5mm plugs on the pickups.

As it is, the PPS 200 is running along with the UST in both guitars. Both preamps have blending capability to make this work.

Sound : 10
The output from the pickup arrangement is solid, plenty of oomph. I am running directly into a Bose L1 and/or a Fender Acoustasonic Jr. Both sound wonderful. The tone from the PPS 200 is pretty even with a slight leaning to the bass side. It balances the UST's very well.

I am a flatpicker who strums and picks while singing. These pickups fit perfectly with what I do.

As far as 'positions' are concerned, you can move the transducers around on the soundboard, holding them in place with doublefaced tape so you can hear what different locations sound like. It's not an exact science at all but you may find locations that sound better to you than others.

Overall Rating : 10
The JJB Electronics products are great. They are straight forward with few frills and they work perfectly. I will be buying more of these for my other guitars.

I have an Epiphone PR 350 with a set of K&K Pure Western Minis in it. There is no difference in sound quality at all, none between the two brands. This fact is significant as the price of the JJB is roughly half or less of what K&K gets for theirs.

These pickups cannot be beat for value, sound, and just overall performance. Jessie at JJB is very helpful and provides excellent customer service. I've been playing for over 30 years and seriously on acoustic for the last 5. These pickups are the best I seen.
