Comments: This is a great combo pickup, but be warned. You MUST adjust the internal tone pots to match the guitar it is installed on. The middle setting of these pots was way too much midrange on my guitar. After adjustment, it is the most natural sounding pickup I have heard, better than the Fishman Matrix or others.

Perceived output level: Whether through a PA or an acoustic amp the warm lows and ability to capture the high jangles the pick-up performs remarkedly well.
Tone: The tone can be balanced by the products pre-amp (fits on belt) knob adjustments between the transducers and the microphone picups.
Sonic evaluation: Great through a Crate acoustic amp and any PA system. Doesn't come out as clear on a Fender Chorus or thru a Marshall half stack.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Strummer with some flat picking. Makes an old player sound good even with stiff fingers :-)

Comments: Just bought the system and would replace it in a heart beat. Been strumming since I got my first guitar (an Alamo) in 1957. I have a dozen collectables that don't get much attention any more. The clarity and absolute acoustic purity knocks me out. There is some feedback from the goose neck mini-mic which I suppose is to be expected but that can be controlled by the dial on the preamp.

Comments: One of the reviewers below finds the Trinity midrange oriented. I think that it delivers the EXACT RIGHT AMOUNT of mid frequencies. Most other piezo pickups are weak in the midrange. This is why they sound so thin.
I have Trinity/Pure systems in all my guitars, including two Taylor?s, and they all sound great and perfectly balanced! The characteristic of the Trinity pickup is more towards a Sunrise magnetic, but without the artificial touch.
I heard John Standefer (2002 fingerstyle champ and K&K artist) at a big open-air concert. He plugged his Taylor straight into the board. Passively! It sounded incredible. I was thinking I hear a mic but is was just the K&K pickup.
This system sounds best with PA?s or regular guitar amps. I found that many of the expensive new style acoustic amps are designed for undersaddle pickups and often do not compliment the natural tone of the Trinity system.

Comments: I would not buy another one of these pickups. I don't like the outboard preamp the mini pots are not accessible, although it does have more natural sound than the fishman it is prone to feedback in bigger places that i play and the mid range is a real bugger to get rid of, colours the sound too much.

:
Model of guitar or bass: James goodall grand concert
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: L.R.Baggs I-beam
Other pickups on guitar: none
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): fingerstyle
Reason for pickup change: i bought the goodall and was told that this pickup would sound wonderful, very much like the guitar. Dear GOD!!! Who's the dumbass that put such a terrible pickup in a great guitar???
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: IT is very crisp and the adjustable preamp gives you plenty of spunk if you need it.
Tone: The preamp is completely adjustable and can be dialed in to create the guitars tone
Sonic evaluation: I plugged the pickup in passively without the preamp, i recorded it and then listened to the recordings i made with the I-beam. My god there is no comparison. Hook up the preamp dial the mic in at about 20% and the thing shimmers. It sounds better than a mic because it is a part of the guitar. It Rules!!!!!!!
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Fingerstyle and jazz. It would work for anything

Comments: I would not like to see it get stolen then my goodall would be gone too. It beats, hands down, any pickup i have ever heard or had the misfortune of buying and then finding out it was a piece of shit. I would reccomend this pickup to anyone wanting a pickup that will accurately represent their guitar.

Perceived output level: not bad passively, but always use it with the pre amp and is delightful
Tone: I could hardly believe it when i heard it. It was exact, i mean exact to the guitar.
Sonic evaluation: I am using a fender Acoustic amp and it is brilliant
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I do mainly blues and it works great, i think that it would work for any kind of music

Comments: I tried all the fishman stuff as well as L.R. baggs new pickup, this was not only the best sounding but the least intrusive and no one came close to the price to feature ratio.

Features
:
Pickup features: Three head transducers a mini condesor mic and external pre-amp
Impedence or other specs: can be used passively, just the transducers or with preamp to phantom power the mic
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Webber Om, Gibson L130, Tacoma Pm20 and Larrivee Om
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Fishman Matrix and EMG Tonebar
Other pickups on guitar: none
Artists using this pickup: me
You musical style(s): Acoustic Fingerstyle, Singer songwriter
Reason for pickup change: I got so sick of getting a killer sounding acoustic and then plugging through these anemic pickups and sounding unlike the guitar.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: When used passively, it is not as loud as the active pickups but one more notch on the board volume and viola.
Tone: Completely natural, sounds as close to the guitar it's in as anything i have ever heard
Sonic evaluation: I use an Acoustic Image amp as well as a full blown pa including a mackie 1202vlz Pro and JBL G2 Eons and Lexicon verb.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play almost all styles except bluegrass. It works well because it does what a pickup is supposed to do. It accurately allows you to amplify the sound but still retaining the character of the guitar.

Comments: I will always use these pickups, i have used the rest and what a waste of time and money it has been. I have been playing for 23 years. I love the accurate representation it gives me, either passively or through the preamp.I have listened to the other pickups as i usually play the NAMM shows, These companies are trying to put a new spin on Dieters Technology. K&K's are the best.
