Features :
IBeam soundboard transducer, element undersaddle, stereo on-board preamp, sound hole mounted mix controls, low and mid trim pots, phase shift, stereo and mono operation.

Instrument :
Installed in everything I play: Goodall rosewood Jumbo, Goodall mahogany Standard, Charis madi rosewood SJ. I've tried Fishman, B-band, K & K, and Schertler: none of them work as well as the IMix. Installation requires reaming out the tail block. Baggs instructions are pretty good, and include a disposable jig for placement of the IBeam.

Sound : 9
Plenty of gain, but I use it with a Presonus AcousticQ tube preamp with NOS tubes.I go direct into a Genz-Benz 100 W acoustic amp.The tone is clear, warm, and detailed with the ability to sculp your tone in many ways. This works very well for both fingerstyle and singer-songwriter strumming.I get lots of good comments about my sound when i play out. It's not the same as a studio mic--but you can't gig with a studio mic, either!

Overall Rating : 9
As far as I'm concerned there's nothing else worth putting into a fine guitar.Been playing 33 years: as a pro for the last 6. This is THE sound for me. Baggs just keeps making their stuff better.

Features :
I recently installed the iMix in my Martin D-18. I been using useing Fishman for years but was never happy with the tone quality it produced. I made the right decision. The iMix is an excellent product. Combined with a Diamond Compression pedal I have now achieved the acoustic tone that I have been searching for for years. I iMix is simple to use yet subtle. It is more expensive but in my opinion, worth every cent.

Features :
Pickup features: 2 state of the art Baggs pickups + stereo mixing on-board system
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Larivee DV-10
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: I-Beam
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Folk / Worship Muisc
Reason for pickup change: Wanted on-board mixing capability

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Toward the hotter end as this is an active system
Tone: You can dial in the tone by dialing the blender wheel between the two piclups (the I-Beam is quite a bit darker in tone, while the Active element is much brighter
Sonic evaluation: Using D-Tar pre-amp / parametric EQ into a Crate CA125D acoustic amp. Sound of the NEW version of LR Baggs DUAL SOURCE (IMIX system) is impressive. Very transparent. I loved the _Beam Active I had, but it seemed like something was missing, notably the ability to cut through (with the add of the Element ACtive and an on-board blender, this solves the problem. I love the sound, though I do have to give strong credit to the absolutley awesome pre-amp (D-TAR Equinox that I fine tune my tone with)

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Folk / Rock /Church / Worship music

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I would buy it again. It is an excellent pro pickup system. With two blendable pickups of different tone structures, the options are almost endless.

Features :
Pickup features: I changed Elements on board to I-Mix, after I heard I-Beam alone. My guitar is 3000 $ top quality RainSong, that came with Elements. In the beginning I thought that piezo sound is really maximum that can be squeezed out from guitar. Than I heard their new pickup and ordered I-Mix. Wow, now it is completely new guitar, so verastile and very natural sounding direct to PA or DI-console. Instalation was breeze, and immediately I reached that right sound. Just small tweaking with gain was necessary to match piezo (that was louder). So, piezo now add necessary mid-range and directness to overall excellent sound of system in total.
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Rain Song 12 string 3000
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced:
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s):
Reason for pickup change:

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: SUPER NATURAL + variations in mixing both.
Tone: The pre-amp is very quiet and EQ effective. Compared to very good mics I-Mix can stand its own right to be recorded directly. Really excellent.
Sonic evaluation: I use only with top quality studio preamp TF Pro and good monitors. DI is necessary for reaching full potential.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable:

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: This is way to go for 12 strings at least.

Features :
Pickup features: dual source (element + i-beam) both active
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Martin D-15
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: none
Other pickups on guitar: none
Artists using this pickup: go to lrbaggs.com to see
You musical style(s): soft rock, fingerstyle, a little bit of everything...
Reason for pickup change: Didn't have one. Wanted to amplify my Martin w-out cutting too many holes and wanted to maintain its natural sound

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: element (very hot) i-beam (easy to match element with the on-board gain control)
Tone: element is VERY balanced, i-beam is VERY natural until strummed hard and then can get muddy.
Sonic evaluation: I play this through a 60 watt "Mega" acoustic amp which is very nice. My sound is very professional and I don't think this setup is anything less than professional. The versatility of the dual source is amazing. Each pickup is awesome by itself but the ability to blend the two.... can't beat it!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Little bit of everything. Too versatile to be "un-suitable"

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: Yes I would buy again. Been playing for a little over a year and the pickup is much better than me.
I think the biggest advantage that this system has over the standard active element or i-beam is its on-board equalizing abilities and gain settings. Many people complain about the i-beam not having enough power (even on the active model) but with the gain control on the I-mix you cna dial in exactly what you want.
I would compare this system to wanting to buy a nice Martin or Taylor but being torn between the two which both sound awesome in their own way... Well with the I-mix you can have your Martin and your Taylor and with the soudhole remote II you can play whichever you like..... OK, so I never was that good at analogies...
