Features :
12 Foot annoying cord, but easily installed towards the neck and plugged into my Fender Deluxe! Yes I run an Acoustic through a tube amp only. House pa's sound good but not great and my Deluxe sounds great and can easily be EQ ed in any situation. Great sounding pup for my 1974 acoustic.

Instrument :
A !974 Fender F-85, Made in Japan I think but its modeled and totally copied to a Martin and probably sounds better too? Not just sayin that cause I own it, I have played old martins and I cant tell them apart sonically or even visusally! Dead on replica. 2bills versus 2 g's! you do the math and comon sence.

Sound : 8
Great, clear and clean. Not very loud but I can make it plenty loud with my amp!

Overall Rating : 8
I might get another or try something else. Not loyal to Lace or anything. I am a Strat guy through and through and they got the first contract for pups with Fender so maybe there worth smething?

Features :
Pickup features: soundhole single coil passive
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: yamaha fs-413s
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: duncan performer
Other pickups on guitar: none
Artists using this pickup: blowout acoustic trio
You musical style(s): acoustic blues rock
Reason for pickup change: needed another pickup for the band.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: hottest passive.
Tone: bassy
Sonic evaluation: direct to peavey powered speaker. will benefit from eq 3 db high boost on house pa systems. impressed by the "acoustic" quality of this pickup. delivers the presence on solos that I just can't get mic'ing the guitar.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: blues, jazz, classical picking and strumming.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I'd get another one ASAP.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive sound hole magnetic
Impedence or other specs: inductance 1.3, resistance 4.0 k, peak frequency 4600

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender Dreadnought
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Dean Markley ProMag Plus
Other pickups on guitar: None
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Folk, Blues, Acoustic Rock, Praise Music
Reason for pickup change: Wanted a permanent mounted unit. Didn't want to re-machine the saddle slot on my bridge to properly fit a piezo unit.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Fairly Hot, much hotter then the Dean Markley ProMag
Tone: Balanced
Sonic evaluation: It sounds much more electric than the ProMag...maybe because it's mounted closer to the neck. This is not what I was looking for. Think hollow body Gibson with P90's. Nice warm clear full tone played softly. Somewhat of a bite when played hard. It's much hotter than the ProMag, so maybe it's overdriving my cheap Peavey practice amp. In a couple of weeks I've got a church gig and will try it out over the PA.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I strum, flat pick, finger pick, and do a little single note stuff. Single note runs sound great. The other styles, not-so-good.

Overall Rating : 5
Comments: I've been playing off-and on for about 25 years, but never had to worry about plugging in until the last couple. My two year old ProMag sounded pretty good, but the external cord was always a pain. I found this one on eBay for cheap and decided to give it a try. I wish I hadn't. I permanently installed the ProMag on a different guitar and like the ProMag better...especially since I painted it satin black to hide it. I'm not a big fan of the harsh piezo sound of under-saddle pickups either. I'll use it or use a mic. When played with a choir and congregation, the acoustic nuances are mostly lost anyway. If it were broken, lost or stolen, I'd buy another ProMag and install it internally in this guitar too.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive Humbucker
Impedence or other specs: Soundhole Pickup

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Martin D1R
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: S***ty Dean Markley, I don't know why they still sell this POS.
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Rhythm guitar in Folk-rock band
Reason for pickup change: Didn't want to embarass self by showing up to gig with crappy wooden pickup.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Not very hot, I goosed my input gain plenty w/ little to no dist. Think "Passive H-bucker"
Tone: IMHO pretty flat, which is good for me.
Sonic evaluation: Sounds magnetic, but not electric. I am a bass player recruited to play rhythm guit in an acoustic/electric folk band, so my sonic eval may not be totally refined. I tried ALL piezo systems at the store, but I hit the soundboard w/ the heel of my hand so I can't use a piezo (either under-saddle or soundboard) 'cause I sound like a bass drum. So I like the warmth of the Cali' as opposed to the acoustic bronze (the other Lace p'up, single coil vs. h-bucking) because the bronze sounded "stratty". No mag p'up will sound "like my guitar except louder" but I find a nice, feedback-free medium with this p'up. Nice for mostly strummed rhythms. For delicate f-style try k&k or iBeam. I use w/ Genz-Benz Shenandoah Ac. amp. "Close enough for ranch work."

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Not enough string to string definition for delicate f-style but fine for folk-rock rhythms.

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: Played w/ enough different pickups to give "8", it is good, not great. Again, I tried every p'up in the store and this one was the best for my style. Neumann is best, but we always give up something when we amplify acoustic instruments for a band situation.
