Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Normal...would highly advise a pre-amp, like a Fishman Pro-EQ or a Baggs
Tone: Very well balanced
Sonic evaluation: I normally use a mic when playing, but when I do plug in, I run the pick-up through a Fishman Pro-EQ straight to the PA, or looped into an acoustic guitar amp (Crate seems to sound the best).

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: For bluegrass, pickups are a waste of time, but when you play other styles, the McIntyre is the best Dobro pickup around. Seriously.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: If it were to quit working, I'd get another one as soon as possible. I've been playing since I was 5 (I'm 23)...I have a Simon & Patrick Pro Quilted Maple, a Breedlove A-6 Olympic Mandolin, an early 90's Dobro, Kubicki Ex-Factor, and lots of other goodies. I've tried the Barcus Berry and it makes your Dobro sound like a Lap Steel. Fishman has yet to jump on the "Dobro Pickup Bandwagon." This pick-up was factory installed...so I was sort of stuck with it, but I am thankful that I was.
