Features :
Pickup features: Volume & tone controls and built in pre-amp
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Small bodied early Jap acoustic: 'BM Sierra'
Position: middle
Pickup being replaced: None
Other pickups on guitar: None
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Beginner, I'm exploring all styles
Reason for pickup change: Wanted to run the guitar through my pc

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Very good, the pre-amp is more quite adequate.
Tone: Balanced, but I had to get nickel/bronze strings (DR Zebra Electro-Acoustic), normal bronze (D'Addario) weren't picking up the low notes.
Sonic evaluation: I am using a Danelectro Honeytone, so it plays dirty! Loads of distortion and sustain.
Not at all like the un-amplified sound.
I will be getting an EQ, so I'm hoping that will sort the sound out.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I am a beginner, so I am quite happy to expriment with sounds. The only fault I can find with the Samick is the tiny size of the Volume/Tone adjusters.

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: The Samick is great, I plan to wire a transducer into my guitar so I can have a choice of sound. Also an EQ should make a difference. I'm a happy guitarist :)
