Features
:
Single coil. Fits nicely in soundhole, secured with screw-down pads that grip from the underside. Makes for a nice, clean, looking installation. Has the cord permanently attached..wished they would have used a 1/8" plug, so adding a jack to the guitar would be easier (hate messing with these tiny wires).
Instrument
:
I put this in a cheap Rogue (MF House Brand)Dreadnaught that I bought especially for Blues Slide work...I had another Rogue that I really liked, but sold it in a moment of poverty induced insanity. It looks very nice installed.

Out put is too low (too "soft") for my taste....and too clean. I get noticeable faint line hum from the thin 12 foot cord that is attached...but it could be from the pickup itself, I guess..

Its a nice enough pickup, looks good, would suit a female folksy singer, but lacks the grit and drive I like...I'll be sticking it in my "Swap" box, and looking for another.
My previous Rogue had a fakey cheap foil pickup I got off ebay, and it was really great sounding! I'll have to see if I can find another like it..

Magnetic single coil soundhole pickup with cheap 10 foot chord. Lead wire is shielded with a thin layer of tubing. Found out after cutting it to wire it to an endpin jack. Pretty heavy duty. Rubber padded clamps for mounting.
Instrument
:
Installed in a Art & Lutherie Cedar model dreadnaught. Solid cedar top, cherry back and sides with a silver leaf neck. The chord was really flimsy so I cut all but a foot off and wired it to an Allparts endpin jack to make this more permanent. This was fairly easy to do, just a bit of a ***** to install the jack. I should have just used a standard jack and left the endpin alone.

I run this through my Genz Benz Shen Jr., a Fender 5watt tube amp, and a Carvin 3200MTS tube head with 2x12 cab. It sounds great through all of them. The pickup has pretty good output for a non-adjustable magnetic soundhole pup but I suggest boosting it with an EQ or preamp boost. I use a Compressor and it handles it well. It is really punchy and transparent. It has not muddied up on me at all, which is more than I can say for the Woody pickup I tried. This is an AWESOME pickup for acoustic blues and slide. I play fingerstyle and it sounds great for harmonic tapping and what not.

I've been playing 11 years and am a slide guitar/fingerstylist. Eric Mongrain had suggested using a magnetic pup for tapping applications and a lot of blues enthusiasts love magnetic pups for slide on acoustics. I couldn't afford a Baggs so I went with this one. One cheap magnetic pup is as good as another in the $50 range. I was very surprised by this pickup and that is why I wired it in permanent. It is fairly low noise for a single coil pup, has a punchy-balanced tone and is very dynamic. It handles overdrive well and sings through my acoustic amp with a little compression. It is also a great looking pickup. Get rid of the chord and you will like it even more. I would definitely buy again if stolen. Don't **** around with anything else in this price range. This is the one for you.

Comments: Yes, I would buy another. I've been playing about 30 years. Also own Harmony solid body and Jay Turser ES-335 copy. (JT135) I bought this because of the low price and it's ability to amplify my old Gibson. I'm satisfied with this pickup.
