I don't know the history of this guitar. I purchased it used in a pawnshop in Vernal,Utah, while working there. I do know I feel like I stole it at $30,u.s..

Sound : 10
Living in south-west Tx. I tend to play with a spanish influence. With its wide range of sound I have yet to find anything I can't play. This has given my friends(who play much more expensive guitars) alot of sport to attempt to outplay me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
My hands are pretty average in size, and the fit on this guitar is at times trying. Playing songs by certain country artists (Jason Bolin, Craig Carter, ect.)is fairly easy. However, rock, pop, blues, and some gospel music leaves me stretched across the frets like a midevil torture device.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Hard questions that require some serious thought. The finnish looks brand new. As far as playability and dependability I have to brag more. It holds tune better longer. It will (and has) withstand a wide variety in climate and temprature. It is my primary guitar. Right now it is my only guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing since I was about 6or7 yrs. old. I'm now 34. If it were stolen I'd kill whoever took it. Then I would definetly buy another Johnson. I had previosly owned more popular models (Peavey, Gibson)but I was frankly suprised at the overall performance of this guitar. The only thing I don't have (and wish I did) is a thumb pick with the dreadnought logo.

Price Paid: #90

It's a basic dreadnought style guitar, no electrics or pickups or what have you. Very well made though, for such a cheap instrument.

Sound : 10
I have to give it a 10. It cost #90 but sounds like one costing three times that. The Martin strings on the guitar are an excellent choice too - unlike the cheap crap found on many budget acoustics. My one has great action, playability and tone. I could easily record with it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It's not perfect, granted, but it's an 8 because of the fact it's easily better than any other acoustics in this price range. It's mostly the decorative lacquer thats sloppy - the fretboard and bodywoods are very good indeed.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It's already taken quite a few accidental knocks, fallen over a few times. It's almost always in the tuning I left it in when I pick it up, not many guitars have that. Treat it right and it'll last for many years.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I can't believe it only cost #90. It's a fantastic instrument, just what I wanted in a guitar.
