Albert Roussel Dreadnought special edition 51

This dreadnought is a marvel to play and to look at. All solid wood. It has a Sitka "bear claw" top with rosewood body and back. The tuners are Grover. The neck is is made of mahogany with a flawless ebony scale. Overall the woods on this guitar are amazing. And they make the guitar sing like a siren. The abalone pearl inlays are also really nice.

How does it sound? Beautiful. This is the reason why I bought this guitar. I went to quebec to visit my son(I'm from Vermont)and he told me about this luthier in Sherbooke city. I was stunned when I tried it so I left the shop with it. I also own a Matin D-35 which is also a wonderful instrument but I have to admit Mr.Roussel's guitar has a little something that makes it my favorite. Maybe it's the rarity or the fact that there's no other guitar like it since it's completely hand made. It's made with pretty much the same woods than the Martin and it just sounds better. It has more definition in the overall sound. It's loud and clear.

No flaws to be found.

I'm not much of a live player but this has become my first choice when it come's to recording acoustic guitars. All my friends are jalous!!! It will keep sounding better and better as the woods go mature.

I have to say it's tough to undertand Mr.Roussel's accent so this is the only place that I would put a bad score. I mean the old man seems willing to offer good service but it's no big company with a good structure...just an old man crafting guitars so i'm not sure about customer service. I never had a problem with his guitar et though.

Fantastic value! I can't believe how good this guitar is. I love everything about it. I never would have thought that i'd find a guitar like this one at my son's place and I must say that it's a good motivation to go back once in a while!!
