Albert Roussel Sublime Macassar

At 73 years old, Albert Roussel is still a guitar genius. I'm amazed that he's not internationaly reknown by now. Well I must say that the old man doesn't really speak english but when it comes to making acoustic guitars I can assure you he's got what it takes. One of my french canadian friend from quebec( Yes folks, it's possible ahahaha)told me he was a great luthier and that I should check his guitars out. I was amazed! So I had him make a guitar for was last year in 2006. He definitly reached Taylor or Martin quality. All hand made of course. This dreadnought has all the regular features of a PRO quality acoustic guitar. The finish is perfect and really gives all the place for the wonderful woods to shine like they should. It has Waverly tuning machines and trust me they couldn't keep this marvel in tune better than they do. A solid master grade Sitka spruce top. The sides and back of the guitar are made of a very special wood called Macassar Ebony. The bindings are made of Koa wood and there is some abalone pearl inlay on the top. Visually, it's truly the most gorgeous piece of music gear I've seen and it sounds has good has it looks. I'm 32 years old and I've been playing for about 20 years now. I've had a bunch of acoustics in my life including Gibson's, Martin's, Taylor's and Takamine and this handmade beauty has become the only acoustic guitar I'll ever need in my life!

This just makes you want to play more and more. It's simply a magical guitar. So inspiring. the sound is where this guitar shines the most.

I play it live on a regular basis. I never needed to take my backup.

I never had to deal with Mr.Roussel since I bought it last year but he told me to come see him if there ever was a problem with the guitar. (At least I think it's what he was trying to say!!!)

I have to admit that this guitar was expensive. But if god had a guitar, Mr. Albert Roussel would have made it. I couldn't be more satisfied. And I know it'll gain value with years.
