DY 59 was made in 1989. High quality Japanese hand made acoustic. Very nice solid spruce top. Ebony fingerboard with dots and FDL inlay. Back and sides are Koa, with a two piece back. Bound body on the front and back. High quality Gotoh chrome tuners and a nice headstock inlay. Bridge is two piece. The top has a nice aged vintage tint, which makes this Dreadnaught look much older.Guitar came with a used mid-price case.

I play all types of music, and this Guitar sounds outstanding. Strike a note or chord and it sings forever. It has a bright sound with enough midrange. Strings are 11 thru 50. Add heavier strings and more Midrange can be achieved.

Bought this used. Replaced the strings, a little polish and away I went. Plays as well as any of my electrics.Added a pickguard that was missing. This hid some pick rash. Remember that the good ones get played or dated.

This Yairi can be used 7 nights a week on any stage. Everything is solid as a rock. I always use an Electric in combination, so a mute point on the backup issue.

I have been playing for 40 years as a semi-pro. I now own a Fender Strat with a lot of mods. A couple of Fender amps. My original Single PU Kay-1963 and an Aria TM 40 for laughts. This Guitar is as good as any $1200. to $2000. Acoustic I have tried- Maybe 20 in the last 3 months. The Yairi sings any tune you can think of, Rock,Folk,Blues or Jazz. I love everything about this Instrument. No Martin, Taylor or Gibson came close for the money. I would buy another tomorrow if available. Price by the way was $350., I should be in jail for stealing it. Get one if you can!The most underated acoustic on the market. I have owned them all(125 or so) over the past 20 years.
