This guitar was made in 1997. It has mahogany sides, oak top, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. It has a see-thru red stain.

Sound : 9
This guitar sounds great for the money. When I picked it up in the store, I knew I was leaving with it. It has a very bright, crisp sound with just the right amount of bass. The mid doesn't overpower the sound as it does a lot of acoustics. This is an excellent guitar. The only problem is there is a little fret buzz, but I'm getting it taken care of. As for in the studio, I have messed around with it using an AKG C1000 condenser mic and it sounds great. Haven't done any serious recording with it yet though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is perfect for my playing style. I play anything from Dave Matthews Band to SRV to Hendrix to Slayer. It had a coulpe of blemishes when I bought it. But I got it for half of the price because of it. It is on the finish under the gloss and you can barely see it. I got the guitar for $320, it was originally $639. Thank God for blemishes!!!

Reliability/Durability : 8
Hardware seems very sturdy and will last for a long time. Haven't used it live yet, but I would venture to say that it can hold it's own on stage. This is a well made, durable guitar. If I were playing an acoustic show, I would'nt take a backup. This guitar seems very trustworthy. I would however take extra strings. Can never be too careful!

This guitar was made around 1995 in the good old US of A. It is a full-bodied acoustic finished in transparent burgundy. I just recently had a bone nut and saddle installed (it previously had plastic pieces).

Sound : 10
This is your standard acoustic guitar. Beautiful, natural tone. It has a very rich/full sound, with a good balance of sonic frequencies from midrange to treble to bass. This guitar sounded great even before I had a professional setup done as well as the installation of the bone nut and saddle pieces, but now it sounds like a dream. No fret buzz or any other annoying noises are present. Just clear, beautiful tone. I use it for playing classic Zeppelin and Allman Brothers acoustic stuff, as well as acoustic blues and slide.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Before I had professional work done on the guitar, there were a few problems. A poorly cut nut caused tuning difficulty, and the plastic saddle and nut were less than adequate. Now the guitar sounds and plays as beautifully as any Martin I've ever heard (at around 1/3 of the price). I give it a "5" because it needed some work to be up to my standards.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Seems solid and dependable. Not much can go wrong with these simple acoustics.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience here - I knew what I was getting, so I paid for all upgrades and setup fees out of my own pocket.

Overall Rating : 10
As soon as I added the bone pieces, it became the best sounding acoustic I've ever had the chance to play!!!
