I have this guitar... The model is "Elegance Rose" NOT "Elegant"

The previous description is fairly accurate:
Solid, book-matched (I think Sitka)spruce top - Satin finish
Solid (I think Honduran) mahogany back & sides
Binding is maple and rosewood
Nato wood neck w/ rosewood fretboard
Abalone inlay around soundhole, @ 12th fret (a rose; there are no dots), and on headstock
Gold hardware
Inside label states that it is "handmade"

Mine was built and purchased new in 1995; List price was $985.00 not including hardshell case

Sound : 9
The sound quality of this guitar is superb. Nice fat, rich tone & seemingly endless sustain. I would say it ranks up there with the much pricier Taylors, Martins, and Takamines, and is arguably better than anything of comparable price.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I liked the set-up out of the box. I have small hands, and the neck shape fit me well. My only problem with it has been some "buzz" out of the high "E" string, but that can probably be traced to poor technique, rather than faulty setup...

Reliability/Durability : 8
I have had this guitar for 10 years... Still looks new and the sound keeps getting better with age. It isn't played daily or professionally, and is handled with care whenever I play it.

Customer Support : 1
I tried to get some production numbers after I bought it ( I know they are fairly rare ) but never got any reply...

Overall Rating : 8
In reference to the previous review, if you can find one for $100, BUY IT!!!
I wouldn't even consider parting with mine for 5x that amount...

I own an Alvarez 6015 Elegant Rose acoustic guitar. I don't know all that much about it because I am not any kind of expert on guitars
and I only know of one other of this model, owned by a guy from a band called Roundabout. There are pic's on his websit @ "http://www.roundabout-yes-tribute.com/johnny_bruhns.htm". I do know it is all solid wood. It has aspruce top and a beleive mahogany sides and back with a satin finish. It has closed gold Alvarez tuners on it and it is taged as a professional grade instrument. There is an abolone rose at the 12th fret. It is truly one of the best looking acoustics I have ever seen. It also matches pond for pound with the best sound to any guitar I have heard out there so far regardless of price. I traded a Martin backpacker with an Ani Defranco autograph for it and I am so glad I did. I will never
let this guitar go till it goes to one of the kids when I croak. Even then it will have to be pryed from my hands..If any one else has one of these I would love to hear from you. Or if you have any info or refences that would be appreciated. I can find nothing....

Sound : 10

I paly blues and folk on this guitar and it suits the forms perfectly. You can coax as delect a nuance as you wish from it
and when needed it will hammer out the country blues power without effort

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10

This guitar was hand built with great care. Any flaws found on it were put there by me and the previous owner. It is a flawless top drawer construction. The book matched back match perfectly andI am always proud to play it. The comments from other player are always positive with a large dose of jealousy..

Reliability/Durability : 8

The guitar has it s share of dings in it from less than careful handling. It is a little sensitive to the touch. I think thats the trade off for the truly large range of sounds and the great sensitive
sounds availible to the player.

I wish alvarez had a littlemore info on the early models on thee website. I think thats about the same as all manufacturers

Overall Rating : 10
I have just been playing a few years. I own several other Alvarez guitars, 5063, a festival (all ash) and a hollow body acoustic eletric. I also own a Kay flat top, a 90 American Standard Strat, and
a Harmony 5 string banjo. If this guitar was stolen from me it would really hurt. I think it would be tough to replace. Thjey just arn't out there for sale. If you see one out there grab it you will never regret it..Or email me! I would love to have another...
