I play a wide variety of genres and it has yet to disappoint.
For the price, you won't find a better sounding guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : 8
I bought it new and it has survived my less than perfect care for four years. Little to no maintenance (no humidifier) for the entire time I have owned it and no problems. Very dependable, would use with no backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No repairs required. Did not come with warranty therefore, no dealings with the company.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing about 8 years. This is only my second guitar, first one was an off-brand but got me through the first few years of intro. If it were stolen (too prized of a possession to be lost) I would definitely buy the AD60SC again.
I love the sound. I hate how easily the pick guard became scratched (might be the way I strum) since it is a black guitar and scratches look horrible. My favorite feature is the built in tuner as it is very accurate, easy to interpret and always handy.

Don't know when it was made.

20 frets, solid spruce top, mahagony back and sides, dreadnaught, thin rosewood neck, basic Alvarez electronics, medium-gauge elixir strings.

Sound : 5
When I bought this guitar, I was a beginner and really didn't know much about guitars. In the beginning the guitar was bright and loud, but there was a lot of unevenness especially in the low ends. very bright and clear mids, but muffled lows and decent highs. Pretty good acoustically, but electronically, in the words of a taylor-owner, "it sounds like a toy." Very bad electronics, imo. One thing that always bothered me was that the pitch of the notes would always trail off flat at the end. VERY ANNOYING.

When playing at higher frets, the sound got very choked up. Couldn't really capo further than 3rd fret. Bar chords beyond it would sound quite dry as well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
The action was decent, but like i said before, chocked up sounds at higher frets. I am really disappointed in the build of this guitar, and the build is the only reason why I wouldn't buy another alvarez. Tuning pegs were pretty accurate, but the bridge was somewhat uneven with the frets.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
As a beginner, i really didn't know how to take care of a guitar. I was 14 and careless...for the most part, this was an experimental guitar - I played around with the truss rod and let it stand out in really dry conditions. very great sins in regard to guitar maintenance. I learned through the hard way the importance of keeping the guitar well-humidified. right now my guitar after 5 years sounds like garbage. but i don't know how it would sound or what condition it would be in if i took good care of it. So I really won't give an opinion.

don't know because i never used it. I was 14 remember?

Overall Rating : 6
I know that Alvarez guitars are nice guitars, both acoustically and electronically, if you have the higher preamp system from alvarez. But there really isn't an Alvarez dealer around my area, and unless I come across a really beautiful alvarez guitar, I don't think i'll be returning to alvarez or even its higher end Yairi models. I got to play a used Yairi at a local music store, but i didn't like it. It's also because of the fact that the neck is too thin for my somewhat thick fingers, and I really prefer the wide necks of Taylors.

all in all, my Alvarez experience was okay, and I'm looking toward buying a 400 series taylor guitar or 9 series larrivee guitar, if i could find the latter.
