Full size guitar and full size neck but not such a huge body. Makes it nice and easy to play. Great for kids between ages 10-14 too due the size of the body. The fretboard is very easy to play on. For the price it is definitely good!

Bright, full and loud sound. Great sound for the price.

The playability is awesome! The action is low and makes it very easy to finger and play play. I think it is the best beginner guitar to get.

You will not have to take this guitar in to get set up. It lasts in all types of weather. The only thing you have to be cautious about is the body. The body is not made of the best material, rather pretty cheap material so if you play flamenco or tap (golpe) on the body you will definitely damage the body. It gets damaged very easily. I recommend getting a tapping plate (they make removable ones) if you play flamenco or plan on learning flamenco on with this guitar.

Classical guitar, Alvarez RC-10, glossy finish, very simple work, typical classical guitar, 18 frets, no electronics, no idea about the woods.
Because it's a classical, its delivery on rock is limited, but the picking is incredibly easy, magnificent action (not too low, not high at all).

Disclaimer: I am not an expert, and probably don't know as much about classical guitars as some other people. With that said, here is my sound review:
As any guy with just one guitar, I play all kinds of music on this guitar. Like I said, it doesn't work very well for rock, but it does OK, but for that you'll have to get a metal-stringed acoustic. I just love the sound this makes. I had it for 4 years now, and sounds as good, if not better, than when I got it. Rich and full sound, both. The bass sounds are not boomy, nor dull. They are very present. The sound is very balanced. I played classical guitars that were worth 2 to 3 thousand dollars, and some of those seemed muffled and dull. I just can't explain how such a cheap guitar can be so amazing. I can actually get different sounds depending on how to close to the neck or bridge I pick the strings - but that's with anything.

The action is not too low, nor high. Never had any buzzing problem, no matter what brand on nylon strings I put on it. Glossy finish, nothing fancy. It's easy to tell that not a lot of work has gone into making this look pretty. Not very hard to find plenty of little things that could have been polished, but that's the least of my concerns. For $150, really can't ask much.

Like I said, had it for 4 years already and sounds just as good or better than when I first got it. Been hit and dented plenty of times, still goes like a rock. The tuners still work great, and like any nylon-string guitar, takes at least 2 weeks to get it in tune after changing strings, but once it's there, it stays. If I could give it an 11, I would.

I never deal with Alvarez, and by the looks of it, I'll never have to. This guitar doesn't need support.

Most wonderful value I'd ever purchased. I also own a pro-series Takamine (gotta check those out too), that was worth tons more than this one, but this Alvarez has my heart. I proposed to my wife with it, I play to my son with it, and I play every day for at least 5 mins with it. I was going to name it, but my wife said that she'd be jealous. I bought a case for it that cost me almost as much as the guitar. For $150, best thing that ever happened to me, after marrying my wife and having my son. If I lose it, I go to the ends of the Earth to find me another one, since they are discontinued.

This is a 2000 "Regent" RC10 Korean made classical guitar. Standard scale, see other reviews for full list of features. No electronics.

I've been playing about 15 years, and play everything from classical to punk. Overall, the guitar sounds dull. The low end is muddy, and the high end doesn't have any brightness or snap. Also, the projection is poor when played normally, and to compensate I find myself plucking harder. For $150, I guess it's okay, but I'm not thrilled. The rating is relative to classical guitars that I have played that are priced under $300.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action is pretty good, fit is standard. Finish is really shoddy. The neck had a clump of lacquer on the 12th fret, which I sanded out. Frets look like they were set in the neck by a Chinese prison worker. The finish is very wavy when examined under a light, but again, for $150 I guess it's okay.

Seems fairly solid. I use this guitar as a campfire guitar, and it gets banged around quite a bit. Tuning machines are generic, but they are tight and pretty good quality.

I don't think I'd buy this guitar again. I'd save another $50 bucks and get a Yamaha. For beginners, I'd recommend a different guitar that sounds better. The sound quality on this guitar will promote poor playing habits.

I don't really know much about this guitar as I purchased it used.
It is a classical nylon strung instrument with a spruce top and mahogany neck, sides and back. It has the standard twenty frets with a flat rosewood fingerboard. The neck is nice and chunky. The finish is a beautiful high gloss but I do not know if it is nitrouscellulose or polyurethane. I just know that it looks very nice. The tuning keys are the traditional open type with ornate mother of pearl buttons and the hardware is gold plated. They work extremely well and the guitar stays in tune extremely well. An inexpensive soft chipboard case was included at no extra charge. I cannot rate any other features as this is a fully acoustic instrument, but the sound, finish and playability are excellent.

The sound is extremely balanced with strong powerful yet unbooming lows and sparkling clear highs and the intonation is phenomenal

I do not know if the bridge had been modified by the previous owner or whether it is the factory setup. Either way, it is perfect for my type of playing which is melodic jazz standards from the 30's - 60's. I can find no flaws in the guitar and the previous owner took extremely good care of it or never took it out of the case.

I have no doubt that this guitar will last a lifetime. I no longer play professionally, but I would not worry one iota about this guitar if it were my only instrument although it is not. I have a number of others both acoustic and electric.

I have been playing for over forty years. In my collection I have a 1952 Fender Telecaster, a 1954 Fender Stratocaster I have had since new, a 1939 Epiphone Emperor (acoustic), a 1924 Gibson Lloyd Loar signature L-5 (acoustic), a 1957 Epiphone Emperor electric with an unusual full body rather that the thin line Emperor offered at the time, a 1962 Fender Jaguar I purchased new, a Gibson Firebird V with the banjo tuners, and a mid-sixties(?) Epiphone Excellente that is the most fabulous acoustic dreadnaught I have ever played. It has a seven piece neck and is in absolute mint condition. I also own a Gretsch George Van Eps seven-string electric archtop, and a mid fifties (?) Guild X-500 with soapbar pickups.
If my Alvarez became lost or stolen, I would definitely try to rplace it, but as you know all guitars even those of the same make and model all have a different sound and personality so I'm sure it would be difficult to replace especially at the price paid. This is my first nylon strung guitar and I like it very much.
