this is ovations bottom line electric classical the applause line it has everything that is typical on a classical and some things that are not such as the ovation volume and tone controlled pickup. so it is active with a battery just as all these type are. it seems to have a spruce top and is delicate and fragile as are all classical giutars.I did not get a case.

Sound : 10
this is my first and last classical, I did not want to spend to much money on my first {classical} so I bought this off of Ebay for 175.00 to my amazement this is a very nice guitar but not my cup of tea but still a great bargin. yes it has a few bottom line flaws that I can "see" like the glue showing under the bridge and the tuners seem to be cheap but they do stay in tune well. however it is a fine guitar that just shines plugged in.and is competent unplugged. I have compared it to some of the more upscale models and found that they did not sound any better plugged in or unplugged if they were an electric /acoustic. there is just soooo many sounds in this little cheap guitar that I was amazed. it just isn't for me because of those plastic strings so I guess I will sell it on ebay.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the action on this guitar is just as good of those eight hundred to one thousand dollar guitars. the only flaws that I can "see" is the glue from the bridge showing through a little. the tuners would be changed if I kept it but they stay in tune, they just feel weak? maybe thats how they are since these guitars are made so fragile to produce those unique tones?

Reliability/Durability : 7
will it last? yes but its no strat or tele, they really are delicate and I was surprised how much so, when I started looking at the classical guitars. this would make someone a nice second backup guitar. then you would not have to gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 9
ovation is the best music product on the market as far as I am concerned their ss acoustic guitars are made like tanks. I would bet that not many warrenties on these fine guitars ever gets used. I have now had an ovation acoustic for ten years and abused it without mercy in all kinds of weather conditions and it just keps on truckin.

Overall Rating : 10
i Have been playing twenty years and have had a bunch of acoustic and electrics. I do not regret buying this guitar its great I will probably sell it for a bit more then I paid since I am not going to be using it. would I buy it again ? no as I am not a clasical guitarist and really have no need for one. they sound good but I hate the way the strings feel, so out it goes.
