Features : 8
Acoustic dreadnought, natural finished solid spruce top with mahogany back/sides, neck. Glossy finish.
Silver nickel closed tuners, plastic nut and saddle. Slim profile neck, 1 11/16" wide.
Probably made 2006. Access to truss rod thru soundhole. 20 frets. Striped rosette, plastic binding on body and neck.

Sound : 10
Gutsy, full and bright, with Martin Marquis strings. Great sustain, and very loud!! Perfect intonation. You can do it all on this. Takes heavy strumming in stride. Finger-picking sounds very articulate and distinct.
No other reviews for this guitar, unless you count the AW-35CEN model.
I have to agree, it sounds staggeringly great - especially since you can pick them up for around $100.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The neck had been backed off the truss all the way. Once adjusted up, it had an "S" curve. meaning a low spot approaching the body join, with a hump where the neck passes over the body. Angle was extreme to make for low action, which mean buzzes on bas strings at frets 1 - 5, and blanking out on the high E and B at frets 10 to 14. Filing to level out these problems and making a higher nut from real bone fixed it pretty easily. In fact, in my opinion, Aria makes great guitars for wood and tone, but falls down on the leveling of the frets. Also, this one had sharp fret edges all over the neck, at the outsides. So sliding around doing barre chords was like barb wire! Filing solved that, too.
Great guitars, if only they finished the darn fret work!!!

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's so light and resonate, but not weak at all. Really nice gluing and bracing. I'll gig with it soon as I install a pickup. No backup ax needed.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not applicable. The Aria guitars are hard to find in the USA. I also have an AD-80. Wonderful guitar, nearly good as my Martin D-28 and looks like a D-41. But a few frets buzzed. It's in repair locally right now.

Overall Rating : 9
If you can find one, and the frets are okay, get it. YOu can take it on the road or to camping or beach parties without worry. Sounds great and cheap as can be.
