This is a jumbo, satin finished acoustic with a Venetian cutaway. It is Irish-made, from Northern Ireland. This guitar came with a Fishman pickup. The top is cedar with rosewood back and sides. The overall build, fit and finish are perfect! The satin finish Avalon does is about the best I have ever experienced, even counting all the Taylor's, Gibson, Martin's, Leach, and McIlroy guitars I have been priveledged to own.
Sound

I am a singer/songwriter. I am an opening act for a Grammy Award winning Artist. Both the artist, her band and the soundman told me it was one of the finest sounding acoustics they had EVER heard! It has a deep, rich and clear tone, full of complex overtones. I have become a great fan of cedar tops, thanks to the wonderful luthiers at Avalon. It has great volume, but it is the sound that amazes me!
The ONLY issue I have is that the tuners could be a higher ratio. My top E, and B strings tend to slide a bit out of tune. I have experienced this with the three other Avalons I have owned.

Spot-on from the factory! No issues with the action, or finish. The rosewood back is perfectly bookmatched. The fret work is flawless!

This guitar holds up extremely well to the road. Both the hardware and finish appear to be able to hold up for many, many years. I have even used it at shows without a backup! You can absolutely depend on this guitar, as well as any other Avalon's made at their Northern Ireland shop. I cannot speak to the lesser models made in Europe, or The Far East.

Not had any issues that require sending the guitar back to the factory. But I can say that Jim and Miles at Avalon are two remarkable gentlemen. They always respond immediately to emails, keeping the time difference in mind.

I have been performing for several decades. I always search out Avalons, either on their web site, or eBay.
Do yourself a very large favour - invest in one of their guitars. You will be amazed at how aesy they play AND how absolutely incredible their sound is!
