Sound : 10
The remit for this guitar was to produce clarity, projection, high volume, eveness of tone throughout, including chords & single notes played high or low on the fingerboard. The guitar achieves this fully.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action can be set for the player. The fit is excellent. The guitar is extremely well balanced & not neck heavy. The finish is amazing. The neck joint dictated a small join section under the fingerboard which can be seen if you look close, but in no way can be considered a fault...more an observation.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I,ve yet to prove this guitar fully but I expect no problems.I will always carry it in a good case! The components fitted to this guitar are of the highest standard. I not giving a rating here simply because i don't feel qualified to at the moment.

Customer Support : 10
Customer support is TOP NOTCH.

Overall Rating : 10
I,ve played for 30 years.I would be GUTTED if this guitar was lost or stolen.I can only compare this to other guitars I own since this will be the clearest & most honest comparison...(My other acoustic is a Taylor Signiture 614.The Taylor was selected from around a dozen Taylors tried at the time)....I thought the Taylor was great...my opinion of great has now changed. The Aylward is AMAZING.
Having said that the Taylor does have a "slinkier" action.
I used to wish I owned an Olson but I,m no longer concerned.I'll have another Aylward thankyou.
When you rate a guitar on Harmony-Central you are asked if there is anything else you want to share..yes there is.Aylward offered me assurity of my deposit back if I didn't like the guitar subject to him selling it elsewhere. This gave me confidence to proceed with an order which clearly I don't regret, anyway Rob Aylward had come HIGHLY recommended to me by more than one player. If you,re REALLY concerned about a high quality acoustic guitar & can live without a "brand" name you ought to consider an Aylward. They are a lot less money than a Kevin Ryan or James Olson guitar. It may even cost less than a off-the-shelf Taylor.
