Features : 10
This Bourgeois OM-R (The "R" signifies East Indian rosewood back and sides) was built in mid to late 1999 and features a Sitka spruce top, scalloped bracng, mahogany neck and ebony
fingerboard with split diamond markers, ebony bridge and bone nut and saddle. A very traditional designed and looking OM style
guitar.

Sound : 10
I compared over 20 guitars by top manufacturers (Martin, Taylor,
Breedlove, Lowden, Santa Cruz, Larrivee, Lakewood, etc.) side by side and the Bourgeois stood out by having a clear and distinct tone which was only rivalled by the Santa Cruz OM but overall superior to all others I have tried. Equally pleasing strummed or fingerpicked.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was a little high for my playing but was easily adjusted with plenty of saddle height to spare. Every aspect of the fit and finish is flawless! Even though it is simplistically styled and appointed (patterned after a pre-war Martin) it is a beautiful instrument to hold and behold.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The Bourgeois seems to be solid and the finish is excellent,
and very durable. A guitar that I will own for a lifetime and was obviously built to last a lifetime.

Customer Support : 9
Talked directly to Dana Bourgeois before purchasing the instrument with technical questions which he answered
graciously. Being that I didn't buy it from an authorized dealer
it came with no warranty, (a limeted lifetime warranty is given
if you purchase direct or from an authorized dealer) although I don't expect to ever need it!

Overall Rating : 10
After playing for almost 25 years and owning many guitars including the Martin I sold to buy the Bourgeois, this guitar is
beyond belief! Once I pick it up, I never want to put it down. Something about this guitar makes it a special instrument to me which I know I'll treasure for a lifetime. Its incredible sound, expert craftmanship and traditional beauty, makes this guitar stand out from all I have played and owned!
