I just want to update this review. I bought this guitar nearly two years ago now and the sound is fantastic, it has real sparkle you can bash out chords and it still sounds musical. I am very pleased with the choice I made

This guitar is a small bodied cutaway with an Adirondak spruce top, indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge.
The neck is of mahogany with a gloss finish which I found a bit "sticky". I emailed Dana Bourgeois about this and he suggested I rub it with 0000 grade wire wool. This has improved the feel no end, and I know that Bourgeois guitars now come with a satin finish neck.
The tuners are gold waverley tuners and are very precise, the best I have ever used.

The guitar has a very clear balanced sound which is ideal for fingerpicking, flatpicking and strumming chords.
The sound is very beautifull but not very loud even when bashing out chords.
It is a very nice giutar to sing with as it doesn't drown you out!
I assume the sound is going to mature as I have only had it about a month

The guitar was well set up with the action reasonablr low although when I have it looked at again I may have it lowered fractionally.
The finish is beautifull.

I have only had this guitar for a month so it is difficult to comment. It seems very well made .

When I found my hand sticking to the neck I emailed Dana Bourgeois for advice and recieved a reply five minutes later!
Excellent advice and very friendly.
The guitar comes with a lifetime guarantee to the original owner.

I have been playing giutar for about 25 years but mainly electric, as I am getting older my preferances have changed. I own a Tanglewood OM cutaway and a Seagull Grand acoustic guitar. I tried quite a few guitars in different shops. I had great difficulty choosing between an Everett Laurel Orchestra and the Bourgeois. In the end the look of the giutar did play a major part in the decision and the fact that the Sean Watkins has a handy strap button. I love this guitar it is comfortable to play and lovely to listen to, but when I have finished paying for it I am going to buy an Everett too!
