Concert Body with soft cutaway, Solid Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood Back, Laminate Ronsewood sides. I've read that this is ok because the top and back are the resonate peices and the sides are for strenght and stability. Think of it like a drum, the primary resonate is the top the secondary resonate is the back and the sides are the supports. So being not 'all wood' detracts on paper but sound wsie it is still way better than a lamanate back. The new Baggs pickup is excelent. While this guitar sounds great on its own, special attention was paid to the electronics optimizing this accoustic for stage and studio sound. EQ, tuner notch phase included. The neck is mohogany with grover tuners that have no trouble fine tuning and staying in tune. Beautiful albone arouns body and sound hole. Made in Korea, set up and inspected in Oregon.
Sound

I primary light strum and flat pick, occationally hard strum when really rocking out. I like to fingerstyle but don't much becuase I'm not very good. Sound is very well balanced. Some of the full dread rosewoods I played were too boomy while some of the taylors I tried I thought were too bright. This is a happy medium all purpose sound. The low E string sometimes take a second to 'settle' and some of the mids are lack a little separation. I'm not complaining, just trying to be critical, there is little to find wrong with the tone. Neither of these minor quirks were noticable plugged in, and as others have said, it doesn't sound that way to the listener, must be the players vantage point picks up something different. Would be interested in trying one of the solo models that has the side wall 'monitor' sound hole and see if that resolves the issue.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action is a tiny bit high. I may try to adjust it in the future but for now it is definately within the comfort range. The finish is very nice. On the neck there are two very tiny pin size bumps. Can't see them but you feel them when your hand slides over them. They are both up by the 10th fret so I don't hit it much. I may see if I can sand it out. Not a big enough to deal to make a fuss about. That is the only falw in the finish and setup I see, the rest of it is beautiful.

I play live regularly at church services and never bring a backup. Never had an issue. Haven't had it long enough to say if the finish will hold up. It does not have a pick guard so that may be a concern, but I stum fairly lightly. If I notice wear I may put a guard on. Hard shell case is very nice. Seems very solid, can't find any structural flaws.

I've been playing for 20 years own a Martin DM an Epiphone LP standard a Peavey Bass, traded in the Sigma 12 string for this guitar. I would definatly consider buying another Breedlove. When I have $6k to blow I would love to go to their custom shop and design one. But since I only have $1k thisis as close as I come. The pickup is a definate plus on this guitar for those who play out. It's smaller body make strings easier to reach and less missed notes, and the attention payed to style and beauty (alabone, fancy fret inlays, iviroid bound fretboard, unique bridgeplate) make this guitar really stand out over a plain wood dread with dot inlays. Combination of sound features and beuaty in a package under $1000 is unbelievable. I played many other Taylors Martins Takamines Larivee Parkwook Gibson. There were maybe 2 or 3 that may have sounded better (depends on the style you want, but I needed a balanced all purpose guitar) but they were also twice the price. Over all This was my top choice and what I ultimately puchased.

Good description in other reviews. I'll add the guitar includes LRBaggs electronics that incorporates a tuner. Solid top and back. I was told laminated sides. Smaller bodied guitar.

Nice balanced sound for a guitar of this size and price. I didn't find the bass (too) boomy in comparison to the Martin I demo played. Projection is good and volume is quite good too. I primarily play electric guitar, but wanted a replace a Taylor I bought and recently sold. While the Taylor has many wonderful attributes, I was also disappointed with playability even after upgrading the pins and saddle especially given its heftier price. I do a mix of finger picking and strumming. This guitar works well for both.

This guitar was made in Korea. There should be no fear of this. The guitar is simply beautiful. Craftsmanship, fit and finish are excellent. The wood and inlaids are very nice. Frets are fitted well. The action is just fine for me. No adjustment is needed although I plan to swap the strings. I tried a number of guitars; Martin, Yamaha, Parkwood. IMO when you pick up and play an acoustic it should naturally work or it doesn't. You shouldn't have to struggle to play it or to get decent sound from it. This guitar is easy and very comfortable to play. The sound was not apparently thin like the Yamaha I tried.

The guitar seems durable and solid to me. It included a very nice hard case. I always protect and store my guitars in a hard case. I expect it to last and mellow out over time. However, it is an acoustic so some care is needed.

Overall I really like this guitar. It's a great feeling when you're drawn to play the guitar then having it collect dust. Easy to want to play and ignore everything else. Great tone. If there isn't enough natural projection, you can always plug it in and use an amp. The electronics work really well. The guitar sounds excellent when amplified. If lost or stolen I'd definitely consider another Breedlove acoustic. As mentioned I tried a number of guitars before selecting this one. I was primarily focused on finding a smaller body guitar with electronics. I was most disappointed with two Yamahas I played especially after having read some glowing reviews, but this is why you need to demo play an acoustic before you buy. The Martin was appealing to me, but the particular one I played I thought it sounded less balanced with its characteristic boomy bass. I thought this guitar played nicer, too. As already mentioned I had a Taylor that I never really bonded with it. While Taylor guitars appeal my senses, I do believe that the one I had didn't work for me because it was a blind, unplayed purchase. I didn't hand pick it. Oh well, live and learn and play on.
I liked the Martin I played.
I had a Taylor which I loved, but never truly bonded with. Perhaps I will look a Taylor again if I am ever after another acoustic guitar.

The AC25/SR is an acoustic/electric concert guitar with a solid Sitka Spruce top and Solid Rosewood back, and a soft cutaway. Bound in ivoroid, also has an abalone dot inlay pattern on the fretboard. Comes with Fishman Classic IV Pickup. It's built with scalloped bracing, a pinless bridge and JLD Bridge Truss System. NOTE: Breedlove now sells them with a hard shell case included. They also seem to have changed the pricing structure for this guitar = more expensive now. I got a different hardshell case with mine. I did see the Breedlove case though.

I do a lot of hard strumming folky kinds of things as well as some quiter flat pick stuff. I don't do much finger style guitar. For a smaller guitar body it has very good volume and projection. The sound is really surpisingly good for a guitar in this price range (which might be why the pricing went up). Many people have told me how amazed they are with the sound. I have limited experience with playing it through the pickup, but it sounded great.

The action was a little high, but the shop took care of that. The guitar is beautiful. I have found no flaws with it. Not something I'm that knowledgable about though.
As I mentioned, Breedlove now sells with a hardshell case. I got a different brand of case, but the Breedlove case looked like it was really high quality and solidly built.

I've played it live several times. Usually mic'ed though. Very pleasing, solid, reliable. Strap buttons are solid. Fishish seems great, but it doesn't come witha pick guard. I would use it without a backup. I don't do long performances though (15 minute coffee kinds of things).

This seems to be Breedlove's weakness. When I first ordered a Breedlove guitar through the local shop, it took a month for the shop to get it and then we found out they sent the wrong guitar to the shop. It had the correct model on the invoice and the tag, but it was a different guitar. I went to another shop that had it in stock and got it there. I've e-mailed Breedlove a few times with questions. It usually takes about a week to get a response. I'm still waiting on a question about getting a pick guard (two weeks tomorrow). Maybe they are more responsive by phone, but I'm an e-mail guy and believe they should be more responsive.

I'm not a very experienced guitar player. After 15 years of not playing, I started again two years ago. I did literally play 30 different guitars before buying this one. I would definitely buy it again for that price in a heartbeat.
A note about pricing: At the time it was listed for $999.00 and selling for $799.00 w/o case. I found it at one local shop for a $695 with hardshell case!!! American Guitar Boutique in St. Paul matched the price and has provided great service. I now see this guitar listed at $1339 and selling for $999 with case.
I love the wonderful sound that comes out of the relatively smaller body. Better than any other guitar I tried in that price range. Again, I've only played it for three months, so no longevity test.

Faetures here are no differnt from the other ratings listed here. Mine came with a case though (included in the price). THe case is actually quite nice for a soft case. I've never been a big fan of the soft cases but for now it'll do.

This guitar suits my music style very well. I play mostly fingerstyle blues, jazz, and some folk. I also do flatpicking when jamming with friends. I don't have the guitar plugged in a whole lot, only when performing at open mics and such. THe guitar performs very well here given the variety of PA's and amp's I tend to run into. This is a good indicator of both the quality of the guitar and the Fishman preamp. I find the guitar has a very balanced sound which is great for fingerstyle. My one gripe would be that, for the player, the guitar sounds a little bass heavy but not to the listener. When picked the guitar has a very full sound and great projection. If I can make one recommendation it would be to switch the strings to elixers (mine was set up with them so I have no idea if they are standard) they make the guitar sound great. Martin SPs (the ones for fingerstyle) sound even better but they didn't have the durability of the elixer's.

I had my guitar set up at the shop, and I never really had a chance to play it with the factory set-up. The sales guy said he didn't change much so lets say that the factory set up was "pretty" good. The finish was pretty good overall. The rosette was a nice touch for a guitar in this price range. I have a slight flaw in the rosewood on the back. But I don't really mind at this price range.

I've only had the guitar for a year, but so far it has stood up to the abuse other than the broken nut two weeks after the purchase (replaced free of charge). I don't play live a lot so I can't comment on how well it will stand up to that sort of use. THe hardware seems good, and should last with minimal care. I would use this guitar at a gig without a back-up but thats only because I cannot afford a back up at this time. I'm not saying the durability is bad, but you never know what can happen.

Great wood, beautiful top end wood selection with great craftsmanship, great tone. Everything you could want. Solid wood except sides. Has rosewood fretboard and ebony bridge on my example, not the opposite as above. Grover gold tuners, nice thin finish, you can actually feel the grain of the wood unlike some heavily applied finishes. No case though.

Excellent! Balanced, clear defined and resonately loud. Very tone full. Works well for flatpicking as well as fingerstyle. Very responsive and almost impossible to overdrive with a hard attack. Amazing. Lows overpower the highs a bit to the player but not the listener! Great projection from this guitar!

All good except one tuner is crooked. Pretty clean work inside, kerfing is a bit oversized in my opinion and possibly overbuilt...but sturdy. Looks to be all spruce except neck and tail blocks. Truss rod was way loose. Had to lower the action a bit. This guitar tunes and stays in tune amazingly!

Suits my style well. Very balanced acoustic sound - a lot more bass & depth than I was expecting from an axe this size. Highs are clear but not tinny or annoyingly bright. Mids are well-voiced. No buzz, no matter how hard I attack. Each string has a well-defined sound--you hear *everything* - every hammer on, pull off, slide & bend...something missing from my old Fender acoustic. I play mostly acoustic worship stuff, but I think you could do a lot with this guitar. I've heard a few better guitars, maybe 2. Definitly nothing in this price range.
Plugged in, this guitar is amazing. Possibly the best plugged-in sound I've ever gotten to play personally.

It'd be nice if the action was a little bit lower, but it's definitely low enough. Finish is flawless. Intonation is dead-on.

Should last a long time and get better with age. When I play live I have an extra guitar in case I break a string. Since one is available, I think I'd always have a backup just in case because you never know. Seems like it would last, Breedlvoe has an excellent reputation and as far as I can tell, this should not let me down.

I love it! I had high expectations for this guitar and was still blown away. It'd be nice to have a pickguard, that's my only complaint. I own a Fender DG-16 Acoustic which was an excellent guitar to start with and as I grew as a player, but after a couple of years it was time to move up. Previously owned an Epi Les Paul (Standard?) cherryburst beauty, but "adopted" her out to my brother to finance the purchase of this BreedLove. If she were lost or stolen, I would buy another no question. I did a lot of research, played a lot of guitars in this pricerange and I truly believe this is the best guitar in the pricerange (solid top & back, fishman electronics, beautiful sound)...th ewhole package.
