2001 model made in Oregon. Deep bodied concert, soft cutaway koa back and sides, western red cedar top abalone rosette, ebony bridge, ebony fingerboard and Fishman Prefix Pro Blender. Reatil $2,999.00.
Came with hard-shell case.

This guitar came with a full discription of the guitar and price. (printed on a sheet of paper in the case) Also came with a cardboard bridge cover to protect the surface when changing strings.

Not significant? I think it's this kind of stuff that gives you an idea about the company's posture.

I played another Breedlove model in the same store and yeeeeees this higher model sounded better but, 2,000 dollars was still above what I could justify for a hobby.

Still the sound was warm, exciting and mostly even throughout the high to low ranges.

I play classical, flamenco and fingerstyle and though I prefer to play the classical and flamenco with a classical guitar, modified flamenco and finger style pieces work extremely well with this Koa Focus,

An individual who had submitted a review for the Breedlove FOCUS in this same website stated that the D'Addario EXP strings were not of his liking and I completely agree with him. they seemed sticky and noisy for my style.

I have been playing the guitar for 20 years now and I tend to "fiddle" with the saddle and truss rod and some other places to try to make the guitar more original (even when it's not necessary).

I did the same with this guitar when I bought it and ended up setting it almost exactly the same as it was originally set. Nice job.

I can see absolutely no flaws in this pretty guitar. Also to mention that the store I bought this guitar from was extemely careful about keeping these guitars "off limits"

It just kills me to see quality guitars just hanging in stores awaiting some person lacking common sense to come along, pull out a pick and start clawing.

Bobby wouldn't take that and I respect him for that.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I don't play out too much so I wouldn't know but I expect this guitar to last me at leat until my great grand children start playing. :)

THe warranty is lifetime. What else can you ask for?

I had to sell two Takamines and a Taylor 410-CE to buy this 2,000+ guitar but it was worth it! I still have a Taylor 414K which is also made of Koa wood but sounds completely different. What is really great about the Breedlove Focus and Taylor is that they complement each other so well that one make you want to play the other.

Again 2000 dollars was hard to justify for a hobby but I think it was a good choice.
