Features: Plain top guitar of OM style which fits me well. I've played dreds, and 000's, but this size fits my body when sitting down and I feel it is important to play something that you don't have to fight with to get you message across. Tuners are Grover 18:1 I believe and the guitar has no problem staying in tune after repeat practice sessions. The neck is just the way I like it. Honestly, it just fits my hands and that's all I'm concerned about. Not chunky, not slim; comfortable. Came with deluxe hardcase. No electronics, but I bought this to play the blues at 6 am when my g/f is in slumbers. Tusq x 2, Ebony board, Indian Rosewood back and sides.
As for "style", I didn't spend $1750 for a guitar that came with herringbone style accoutrements, but it is bound, has a nice rosette and the back is quite pretty. I had the money to buy one that was much more "adorned", but I tend to leave that to my electrics.

Sound: What the hell would we do without it? if I were to describe this guitar in one word, it would be "balanced". Really though, that is a compliment to the maker because I've always been very critical of acoustic guitars response to my playing, yet this one projects bass, mids, and treble notes from arpeggios to strummed chords, to (my favorite) blues runs, with not just accuracy (any builder can pull that off), but with taste. Very satisfied in this department.

Very picky here. Electric or acoustic, it is either yah or nay. Breedlove OM-R: not one damn flaw. I should pay them for that kind of setup.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Having lived in Bend, OR I know what the weather is like. Living in Florida is quite different. With the proper tools and instruments, the transition has been fine. I depend on it. I fell asleep playing it at 3 am, hunched over it waking at 7 am. I kept on playing.

Customer Support : 10
Best support I've dealt with. Having lived in Bend for several years from about 18 yrs to 20, I've never met a nicer, more friendly group of people anywhere in the country. Take that feeling, pour it in to Breedlove's company, and I've never been treated better. Honestly, I had no doubt they would be anything than what I expected.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing a solid 15 years and have owned various acoustics. I am a collector as well as a player and this guitar will never leave it's designated spot. Breedlove has proven to me that although I tend to play more electric ( and am the proud owner of #7 of 10 Mark 1 Custom Calendar Series ), this guitar has soul that has already improved my chops on the electric guitar. Keep up the great work Kim and fellows, you are doing a great job. I name my guitars and though I haven't named this Revival OM-R, I did name the aforementioned guitar "Loyalty," and you can bet on that.

What a wonderful, and rich sounding guitar!! I primarily play fingerstyle Hawaiian Slack Key music in Open G. While playing the guitar in the shop, the shop owner and assistant were equally impressed with the tone of the guitar. I own and have owned several Martin OMs, with Sitka and Adirondack Spruce tops. This Breedlove holds its own against the best of them: Martin, Taylors, Bourgeois, and Collings. Tone is balanced; not too bassy, not too trebly. Warm, rich, and resonant. Trebles sounded very clear.

Beautiful finish and choice of woods. Semi-gloss/satin finish looked great and very durable. I saw no imperfections in the wood. Grover 18:1 vintage tuners worked great. Neck felt great with the 1 3/4" nut. Very simple yet elegant appointments.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Being that this guitar is hand-made and not a mass produced guitar in the Martin sense, this guitar should last a very long time.

I'm in the process of having an OM-M Deluxe built for me and Breedlove has been responsive to all my questions.

If I had known about the Breedlove Revival Series sooner I would have been better off since I would not have to keep searching for the perfect guitar. While not guitar is perfect, this one comes close.

Handmade in Bend Oregon. Part of the Revival Series that recreates pre-war Martin style guitars with advanced scalloped X-Bracing, old time asthetics. OMR model similar to a Martin OM size, R being for Rosewood since there is a Mahogany model as well.

Select Sitka spruce top and Rosewood back and sides, Ivoroid binding, pearl dot position markers, squared Marin style rosewood headstock overlay, 1 3/4 nut, aged looking stain with a hand rubbed finish similar to a French polish. Open back vintage style Grove tuners. I would have given it a 10 here but I would have preferred a bone nut and saddle as opposed to Tusq.

The sound of the this guitar is truly superb. It has wonderful note separation and is exremely loud and powerful for guitar of this size. There is a good separation of notes but it responds very well to strumming. The mids are dominanat but the bass is very powerful and the trebles display a remarkable clarity. This guitar projects very well with great sustain. I am not sure how they did it. Maybe the bracing or the choice tone woods but they surely got it right. I can't imagine how much better this will sound when it truly opens up. This guitar is a fingerpickers delight.

The fit and finish of the OMR is superb. It is very tastefully decorated with an "old-timey" look with no gaudiness. It looks like a well aged classic. I really love the fact that there is no thick heavy gloss on this instrument. There is a hand rubbed finish that is similar to a French polish. Iwonder if the lack of thick gloss allows the top to vibrate more easily.

Reliability/Durability : 9
These guitars are very light, and do ding easily because there is no thich high gloss finish. It is however, very solidly built and should last a lifetime.

The folks at Breedlove obviously really know what they are doing. They are also very responsive to e-mails inquiries. They answered my question in minutes and were extremely pleasant to deal with. I feel confident that they will stand by their instruments and this one as a lifetime guarantee.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for almost 20 years. I play fingerstyle folk and blues and also flatpick folk and classic type rock. I also dabble in some classical guitar. These OMR was a fanstastic find for me. I was in the market for a small body rosewood Martin and I tried several guitars for weeks. I really didn't know much about Breedlove except they were from the wonderful state of Oregon. After a few minutes with this guitar it was clear that it sounded much more powerful then any of the small body Martins. It also sounded much better than anything else I tried.

I have owned Martins, Taylors, Larrivee, Seagull and Almansa guitars. When I am in the market for a new guitar again I will defintely seek out the offerings of these folks from Oregon.
