Burrell Guitars Acoustic

This is a very unique guitar of patented design. The unique body design allows for far more comfort by eleiminating the uncomfortable corner that the right arm usually rests on over the body of the guitar. This in turn makes for an instrument that is as easy to play as it is pleasing to the eye. It has a beautiful African rosewood back and a curly maple neck. I would have liked to have electronics, and the builder would have been glad to do that for me, but I have a Fishman pickup here at home that I never installed so I figure I'll add that later myself. The cutaway body makes playing all the frets quite easy. I own 18 guitars and this is the most unique addition to my collection to date.

I play mostly folk/folk-rock styles and do a lot of finger picking. By reducing the amount that my right wrist has to bend to reach the strings (in fact I can easily play with my wrist straight) this guitar is ideal. The sound is comparable To my Taylor 412CE or my Guild C1E. It is very bright although it will probably mellow with playing time.

The guitar is truly beautiful, and the unique design draws everyones attention to it immediately. I walked into an open mic. the other night and the guy on stage performing stopped playing in the middle of a song when he saw it! Of course there are the inevitable jokes about such a unique instrument. "Hey buddy did your guitar get wet?" "Is that the Salvadore Dali model?" But that just adds to the charm for me. Only one complaint so far. When I applied a capo to the 7th fret the low "E" string kept sliding of the edge of the fret wire. This was corrected by being very careful when applying the capo.

I can't really comment as the guitar is brand new and as yet untested except at that one open mic. Given my experience with guitars and the way the instrument looks to be constructed I don't fell I will have any problems. And yes I will certainly be gigging with this instrument.

SO far the company has been very cooperative and communicative. I received responses to a number of emails to the owner of the company within an hour of having sent my questions. I have no reason to believe that that will change in the future.

As I said above, this is my 18th guitar. I bought it unplayed from ebay and I have never done that before and never expected to. But this guitar is so unusual in its design that I fell in love with it from the pictures that were posted. I was not disappointed when the guitar arrived. I fact, I am far more enamored with this guitar now that I have actually gotten to play it. What a great instrument and a great addition to my collection. If your looking for a truly unique instrument that plays well and is easy on both the arms and the eyes look at Burrell.

The unique design and construction of this guitar make it emminently playable. Less right arm and wrist strain and no discomfort where the right arm crosses the body of the guitar. In fact, it's like having a built in arm rest.

The guitar has a good sound and is very comparable to other guitars in this price range.

The guitar is beautiful to look at but if you look closely there are some finish flaws which I knew about going in. They are very minor and have no effect on sound or playability.

Top notch locking Grover tuners. I would definitely use this at acoustic gigs.

1 year warranty, which I doubt I'll need given the looks of the construction. Very friendly people, dealt with the owner of the company who was very quick to reply to all my questions.

I have a guitar collection of 18 guitars. The Burrell is by far the most unique member of that collection and I look forward to having it a great many years. I would have liked to purchase one with electronics but I can add those later. If you need a hardshell case you're probably going to have to buy the one from Burrell because none of my 16 cases worked. I'll probably get a gig bag.

NICE SOUND NO BUZZ ACTION MEDIUM LOW DON`T THINK IT IS A ROCKER MINE SEEMS MORE SUITED FOR COUNTRY,BLUES ,JAZZ,OR FINGER STYLE.MUCH LIKE A MARTIN OR LARRIVEE MAHOGANY BACK SOUND.I WOULD LOVE TO TRY ONE OF THESE IN ROSEWOOD.MINE IS GREAT BUT I LOVE A NICE SOLID ROSEWOOD BACK.

ACTUALLY I TALKED TO MR BURRELL A COUPLE OF TIMES HE IS A SUPER NICE PERSON EVEN AFTER I STOLE THIS GUITAR.HE CALLED ME TO SEE IF I WAS SATISFIED WITH GUITAR AND SHIPPING ,GAVE ME ALL THE INFO ON GUITAR .NICE TO DEAL WITH THE LUTHIER HIMSELF.IF YOU GET A CHANCE TRY A BURRELL MAY BE THE NICEST GUITAR AROUND CHECK IT OUT.
