Mine is made in Melbourne, Australia in 2008.

Here is the specification copied from the Cole Clark web.

Specification:

All solid timber dreadnought with internally carved top and back.
Natural finish Neck- Qld Maple
Solid ???AAA??? grade spruce top or Bunya
Qld Maple, blackwood or Indian Rosewood back and sides
Inlaid face edge and rosette inlays. All timber binding.
Abalone inlays (fingerboard, face edge & rosette)
Fingerboard and bridge - ebony (with ebony bridge pins)
Grover Gold machine heads
Tusq nut
FaceBrace?? Sensor. The Face Brace Sensor is the first pickup that captures vital sounds and tones created by the face of the guitar. The sensor runs across a large section of the face resulting in a truly live signal that has to be heard to be believed. The FL3 also comprises a back sensor.

My FL3 is non-cutaway with spruce top and rosewood back and sides.

The quality of wood is very good as well as the craftmanship.
I am more with electic guitars and have PRS custom 22 Artist Package and Fender Custom Shop Strat. Usually the first thing I look at when I purchase a guitar is the finish before I try it out. My electric guitars have flawless finish which I like them so much. And the finish for my FL3 is as good as those guitars. No faults at all.

WHOA, I was absolutely amazed by this guitar. I just played a G major chord. It was crystal clear, ultra deep bass (I could feel the vibration of the body of the guitar transfers to the neck)and full rich tone. Once this lady is plugged in, it's the end of the story. Pay the money and take her home.

I was going to get a Gibson Hummingbird because I really like the squre dreadnought and feel of Hummingbird. I have tried a number of Matons and Martins but nothing could compare with this one. To me Matons and Martins are overpriced for this guitar.

I showed my FL3 to my mates and they were impressed too!
2 of them are going to get it pretty soon. They didn't play this one for long. Just a few minutes and they knew this guitar has something.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action, Fit & Finish Perfect!
I didn't have to change any set-up at all.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I play 2~3 hours average and have this one for a month now.
No problem and I don't think I will have any problem with this one as I know how to please ladies.

Customer Support : 10
I really love this guitar so much and wanted to know bit more about the pickup. I sent an email to General Information. Guess what. Bradley Clark, Cole Clark CEO replied me back.

I tried different manufacturers customer services but nothing's like them.

This is the customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this guitar so much and can't put it down.
As soon as I finish work, I play this everyday.
There are few instruments which make you to play more because it sounds so good. FL3 is something like that.

I live in Sydney and drove to Canberra (8 hours total) to get this lady as the shop in Canberra had the one with non-cutaway, spruce top and rosewood back and sides. And I was so pleased I could have this one.

I play mixed music mainly country. I am using a Fender acousonic amp or through a peavey PA. Sound awesome on both. Unplugged this guitar is the best guitar I have ever played or owned. I have owned alot of high Matons IE: ECW80, Lyrebird and Messiah. The Matons I am sorry to say don't match this guitar. The bass is awesome. It has a rich full sound and it is lovely and crisp strumming or fingerpicking. I was shoping for a new Maton when I come across this guitar and when I played it there was no comparison

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was Perfect from the factory. The finish of the guitar is unmatched absolutley flawless.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't had it long but it is built tough. I will gig with this guitar without a backup

Customer Support : 10
I made a few enquiries by e-mail and phone. Always quick to respond and very honest with thier opinions

Overall Rating : 10
If you want a guitar for under $3000,00 that will outperform a $8,000 guitar then look no more. These guitars will become very popular and highly saught afetr in the near future. Look out Maton,Taylor,Martin and Gibson, with these guys you have met your match.

2005 Fat Lady 3 dreadnaught made in Melbourne, Australia. Triple A Sitka Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, block herringbone inlays, herringbone rosette, rock maple binding, gold Grover tuners, maple neck and Ebony fingerboard. This is a gloss finish non-cutaway with Cole Clark's twin pickup (bridge/face) and control panel.

I went into the store to buy a Fat Lady 2 and when I saw and played the 3 it was all over red rover as they say. Absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!

Got a deluxe case too....yummy!

Sound : 10
The sound of this instrument is what really sold me. Unamplified it has a rich, piano-like ring and a glorious bell-like chime. It sounds lovely and crisp strummed and articulate when fingerpicked.

Plugged in is really something!! The control panel has volume/slider for bridge-face pickup blend/bass/mid/treble. The reproduction of the "acoustic" sound of a guitar through a good P.A is absolutely incredible. Every nuance is captured faithfully. Simply phenomenal...

I sold 2 guitars so I could buy this one. I've owned a Maton CW80 for many years and although it is a good guitar in its own right the Cole Clark is a HUGE step up. Everything about this instrument screams QUALITY. The gloss finish, inlays etc are all totally flawless. The string action seemed higher than I like at first but I now LOVE it and will not change it. I think it is a piece of exquisite art....so nice!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Cole Clark is a relatively new company however they have already made strong inroads into the Australian guitar market that traditionally has Maton as the only "quality" competitor. The guys who formed Cole Clark actually worked for Maton and eventually left after being stifled creatively. The detail and care exhgibited on this guitar show how serious they are as a force in guitar making AND innovation.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had to deal with Cole Clark yet however all reports in the Aussie media show them to be a caring company.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been a player for over 30 years and own quite a few quality guitars. Originally I was going to buy a Maton "Tommy Emmanuel" model after I retired my old faithful Maton CW80. Someone recommended Cole Clark and to be honest the Fat Lady 3 absolutely killed the Matons I tried out. Even the Messiah which is over a grand more wasn't as sweet...I couldn't believe it.

Cole Clark are an innovative young company who are really going places. I'm so glad I checked them out and I recommend anyone in the market for a quality acoustic do the same. In the future they will be talked about in the same breath as Maton, Martin, Gibson, Taylor etc.
