Sound : 8
Great for what I do which is a hybrid picking style, Celtic type music.
Sound is rich and loud. Plenty of treble & bass. Very musical. Not wood but in some ways better. Notes have definition, sustain and sparkle. Guitar can be boomy when plugged in but is easily fixed with EQ. Acoustically, the guitar sounds even and a bit compressed. The guitar hardly ever goes out of tune and the intonation in the best I have ever heard. It is truly impervious to humidity and temperature. I left it in my trunk one day at 90+ degrees. The guitar was still in tune although hot to handle.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was set up for bluegrass flat pickers so the action was a bit high for my tastes and was strung with 13's. I changed out the Tusq bridge saddle with a graphite one which darkened the tone up a bit and took the bridge saddle down a bit to improve the action and re-strung with 12's and now it is perfect for me. These are all personal preferences so I have no gripes with the factory. The guitar's fit and finish is superb. I added an LR Baggs Dual Source pick-up system with an under bridge transducer and an internal microphone and it sounds amazing plugged in. I could not be happier. I am saving for another one to use for different tunings.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar is extremely robust. I'm sure you could break it, but it wouldn't be easy. I would not hesitate to clock a burglar over the head with it. The stainless steel frets show very little wear after at least a hundred hours of playing time. The guitar will probably outlast me so I suspect it will be passed down some day. It is way more dependable than a wooden guitar.

Customer Support : 9
I haven't had any warranty issues but I have called the factory a few times and they fell over themselves to help me out. The warranty is a limited lifetime warranty. I believe they will stand behind their products. I sensed a great deal of pride in what the were doing.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 40 years. My other acoustic is a very nice high end Yamaha. I use a Zoom acoustic modeling/effects pedal, an Acoustic Stomp pre-amp and a digital delay into various acoustic amps which I use for a stage monitor and go direct from the amp to the mains.
What I love about the guitar is that it is just sounds so chimey, rich and beautiful. Again, these won't replace wood guitars but are great instruments that can take a beating and deliver the goods night after night. I like the fact that we have viable alternatives to wood, now that some of the traditional tone woods are getting scarce.
