Features : 9
This is the newest Composite Acoustics model, which is a cut-away design made of all synthetic material (and that means ALL....no wood anywhere on the guitar), with the particular model being a little big bigger than a parlous guitar style. The electronics come with an onboard tuner, EQ, etc.

Sound : No Opinion
This is a little hard to guage at present (see answer to the next question).....

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
The fretwork and general setup coming out of the Louisian factory for this guitar is, I hate to say, appalling. While the design and general concept of the guitar is outstanding, especially for those that live (as I do) in a place of serious weather extremes, the execution in key areas is inexcusable in a guitar of this price (or any price, really). The first model I bought had such poorly dressed and seated frets that it had fret buzz almost over the entire kneck, as well as rough fret surfaces that made vibrato a loud, scraping joke. After jumping through some hoops to send it back, I received assurances that they were not in the practice of letting workmanship like that out of the factory, the replacement one would be inspected to insure it was in good shape, yada yada, the new one came in and.....fretwork that is just about as bad as the first one, PLUS there was a problem with the saddle not being as straight on the bottom as it should be so that the 4th string has lower output through the amp. Not really a functional guitar, in that condition, and a sign of really, really poor quality control (especially on the 2nd guitar, going out to replace the first bad one). Luckily, my local guitar store is bending over backwards to make this right for me. They had to really push to even get the replacement one from Composite Acoustic in a reasonable amount of time.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
The whole point of Composite Acoustic guitars is to be impervious to extreme heat, cold and humidity changes. I'm assuming that it will do this very well, but I haven't been able to actually have it in my possession long enough to really know....given the truly terrible set up from the factory (see answer to question, above). Once my local shop gets it playable, I look forward to taking it to all those gigs that made me nervous with my wood guitars.

Customer Support : 2
Not acceptable (see answer to question, above). First guitar should never have left the factory in that condition, and the replacement one REALLY should have never left in that condition. Mistakes happen, but how do you replace a lemon with another lemon?

Overall Rating : 3
It's too early for me to judge all the things I thought I'd be reviewing by this point (sound, performance of electronics in gig situations and recording, guitar's reaction to weather extremes) because I've "owned" the guitar for almost 3 weeks and it has been in the shop or back to the factory, getting replaced, for almost every day of that time. I had such high hopes for this guitar....the idea is wonderful, it's a very comfortable guitar to play, and the electronics have good features (eg. on-board tuner), but so far the experience has been a big disappointment. CHECK THOSE FRETS AND ELECTRONICS thoroughly before you leave the store, no matter how crowded and loud the store is, etc.
