My model 20 Cordoba was made in Spain 2004 which I ordered through a guitar teacher. As we flipped through the catalog we saw many classical gitars, but this guitar stood out from the rest. Something told me that was to be mine. My teacher question why I wanted "that one" so badly but I could not explain, I knew I just wanted that gaitar. He then put the order through and it took a really long time to recieve my guitar. The wait was well worth it because when I opened the box, I saw the prettiest instrument I have seen in a long time.I appriciate the hard work that goes into making one these guitars. I worked for the whole summer for the guitar and I am very pleased with the sound. Everyone wanted and still wants to play it, including my guitar professor! She said I made the right choice. I am also very happy with the Humicase.I coudn't afford the case with the guitarat that time, but I worked my butt off to later purchase the case in a short time.I want to say "Thank you for a great guitar"

Sound : 10
Doesn't hum or vibrate the wood in any way,its the loudest guitar in class (which is a good thing),has a rich, full sound, nice bright sound, very natural sounding (Spanish -classical),I can get all the variuos sounds out of it that I need,I dislike that some people stare at it as if they were going to steal it because I like it so much!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I'm not sure, my teacher may have set it up.no flaws, I far as I know it is perfect

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar instructors at my college say its a very good guitar but for some reason they said I would need a more professional guitar for performances outside the school like Carnige Hall level. If you take care of the guitar properly, nothing unfortunate should happen.

Customer Support : 10
I think Lifetime warrentied, very friendly and helpful, no need of repairs (thank God)

Refer also to the other reviews. This is Cordoba's nicer basic 'serious student or crossover professional' guitar. It is handmade and features wonderful craftsmanship, a solid cedar top, laminated mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, and mahogany neck. Very nice rosewood bridge with attractive tie block. It comes with adequate but somwhat 'cheapie' tuning machines. Although the Cordoba brochuire describes this as a basic model, I think it is very attractive and very well made and superior to other guitars costing twice as much (or more).

Sound : 10
This is a handmade Spanish guitar! In the price range, I found nothing that came close except for an Esteve. I felt that the Cordoba had a bit more range and was a little brighter sounding. It has good volume, resonance, and great sustain. It has a solid top, unlike the Korean and Japanese models in this price range that have laminated tops. The 20 Estudio has a nice full, rich, sound. In my opinion, this guitar sounded much better than guitars costing two to three times as much.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was beautifully finished. I found no flaws. Setup was fine. The solid cedar top has a nice warm color with a very pretty rosette. Nice binding. It has a gloss finish that feels very durable. Aside from what I have listed, there is no other fancy finishing touches. If you want fancier finishing touches, you go to the Cordoba 30 or 40 models. But this had the features that I wanted. The action was good and the neck is very comfortable. The only criticism I have is that the tuning machines could have been nicer, considering how nice the guitar is. I thought the nickel finish with plastic knobs looked kind of cheap, although they seemed to work fine. I decided to replace mine with a set of Schaller SHG1s - reasonable, precise, pretty, and very nice! The 20 Estudio looks and sounds like a much more expensive guitar. I purchased mine with the Cordoba hardshell case and installed an SKB humidifier - a good investment. SKB makes a humicase, which will extend the warranty on the guitar. However, I liked the fit of the Cordoba case better.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Aside from my comment on the tuning machines, this is a very well made guitar, which I expect will be quite durable, if treated with respect and stored properly. I bought this one primarily for travel, practice, and a change from my Cordoba FCWE. I find that it suits my puppose very well. The more I play this guitar, the more I like it - it really has character!

Customer Support : 10
Cordoba guitars are distributed exclusively through Guitar Salon International. Refer to my coments on the FCWE- the prople at GSI are nothing short of outstanding! Cordoba gutiars come with a three year warranty. The warranty can be extended to lifetime, it purchased with a 'humicase'. Even if you don't buy the humicase, you should but a humidifier for any good classical guitar. I bought this guitar (and my FCWE) through Guitar Center - can't say enough good stuff about them!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 25 years. A few years ago resumed playing after a number of years off. About a year ago, I switched to Nylon. I am basically a 'cross-over player' and like jazz and Brazilian jazz and, recently became interested in flamenco and classical. I also own a Cordoba FCWE, which I play through an Untrasound amp - great combination. I actually sold my steel string guitars (Godin LGX-SA and Fender Strat) and don't plan to look back! In my opinion, this guitar is hands down one of the best in its price range. As I said, I think that the Esteve came very close, but I liked the character of the Cordoba a little better - but thats just a matter of taste. If this guitar were stolen, I would replace it without hesitation.

Pretty basic spanish classical guitar.
Solid cedar sound board, laminated mahagony back and sides.
My guitar was made in spain in 2001.
It seems hard to get any information on Cordoba guitars.
I rate the features with a 8 considering I only paid $295. But it is very basic.

Sound : 10
After playing electric for a couple of years I decided to give classical a try. Love it!
I bought a Ibanez accoustic/electric and was pretty happy with it until I went back to Guitar Center and played the Cordoba. The price was the same but the sound of the Cordoba about ten times better.
Better seperation, better sustain and a lot louder.
I highly advise anybody who wants to buy a classical guitar for under $400 to buy a solid top. Get the most basic guitar but insist on a solid top. The pay-off is in the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action on my guitar was set up great. Low enough to easily play it, high enough to have resonance.
The workmanship on this guitar is definetly less than impressive. But what do you expect at that price.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I play this guitar for a year now, almost every day for an hour minimum. I had no problems yet. The guitar seems to be able to withstand some beating. My two kids could not break it yet.

Customer Support : 10
I am very impressed with the customer support at the Guitar Center.
I had no problem exchanging my Ibanez for the Cordoba although I owned the Ibanez for about two month.

Overall Rating : 9
This is my only guitar now. I am not interested in playing electric or steel string anymore. I enjoy classical too much.
I am not sure if I would buy the Cordoba again if mine would be stolen. I probably would upgrade to another Cordoba, Alhambra or Esteve. It would be hard to find a better instument in this price range.
I have compared the Estudio 20 with the above mentioned Ibanez, a Yamaha, a Takamine and an Esteve in this price range. All of those guitar had solid tops.Only the Esteve came close to the Cordoba in sound.

Spanish made; Solid cedar top; Clear Gloss finish; Traditional Classic styling. Neck somewhat thinner/flatter than most classical..an advantage for small fingers.Relatively spartan no grain matching etc.The tuners are somewhat "cheapie"(as in many guitars of this type even some expensive ones) but work well.

Sound : 9
Wonderful. Even response with clear highs and lows. Nice sustain. This is the guitar's strongest feature

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
No major flaws. I loved the maple purfling though fit was just a bit rough in a few spots. Some excess glue in the interior but it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Seems about as durable as any classic acoustic.

Customer Support : 8
seems fine so far. I got it at ...YOU GUESSED IT...guitar Center. Salesman was quite helpful but knew much more about western style guitars that classical

Overall Rating : 9
All the important stuff is here. The guitar is a great bargain. I'd get another if I had to.

Solid cedar top/laminated mahogany sides - paid $350 out the door with no case from Guitar Center. Solid basic classical with no frills.

Sound : 9
9 - great sound. First cedar top I've owned but it will not be the last.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8

NA - but the Guitar Center made it easy to deal and buy

Overall Rating : 10
Was going to buy an Esteve but happened to pick up this Cordoba 20 and was impressed by its clear high end and especially its low end which was strong but no at all muddy or dense. The action was great so I side tracked and, once again and with eyes closed, played all the classical guitars (under $500) in the store. I liked the Cordoba 20 by a significant margin and noticed it was the lightest of all the guitars I played. It's like a Taylor guitar but with nylon strings.

Spanish student/intermediate classical with; a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard and bridge. The basic goods for a student guitar.Plus a hardshell case.

Sound : 9
As a recent change of style compelled me to buy a classical guitar, I was in the market for something that would last me, sound decent, and not cost me a hell of a lot of bread. This model suits me fine for the objectives to be met.The tonal characteristics of the 20 seem to be up to par with the rest of Cordaba's "R" series; tight bass response, full-bodied tone, mainly due to solid top contstruction. The cedar top produces a more mellow tone than the spruce, but I have grown to this tone better.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Altough I ordered this guitar from a catalog, A PROCESS THAT SUCKS, it came with perfect action and intonation.I did let it sit in a gradually heated room before I tuned it; it was sitting on my porch for 30 minutes in 15* weather prior. The finish is a clear gloss over the cedar top, and it has a lighter, more drednaught-like color tone rather than the red stain of traditional classicals.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I feel that this guitar will last me until I have enough money to buy a Ramirez; i.e. 100 years.I'm probably not even going to bother.

Customer Support : 1
MUSICIANS FRIEND SUCKS.I ordered the guitar; it was backordered.Three days later I received a package with a Cordaoba Gypsy King Model in it (Great Guitar!), but unfortunately, they billed my dad's card the full $1400.No good. So I returned it; bitchy process, and waited for conformation of my 20's arrival to their warehouse. They also forgot to update the stock date on their website for the 20. Thirty days and 3 emails (with only one vague response) later It was confirmed that it was shipped. When I received it they forgot my god damn case that was supposed to come included.I contacted them and they said they'd ship me one.I'm still waiting!!!!!Unorganized assholes.

Overall Rating : 10
I've only been playing for 4 years and I can't even drive yet, but I have developed a strong affinity for the guitar and intend to turn music into a life-long pursuit.I think that this is a superior guitar for the money and the tone it produces.I only hop
