This is a rather basic classical guitar. solid ceder top, rosewood fingerboard and mahogany back/sides and neck. There is also plain binding around the body. The wood grain is very attractive, and the guitar is very classy looking. As said before, the open gear plastic tuners are pretty cheap looking, and they are probably the worst feature on the guitar.

Sound : 7
When I first received the guitar, it had rather dingy strings on it, and it was hard to really know how the guitar sounded. I then put on La Bella strings on, and it came to life. It has that typical balenced classical sound. Its not as big sounding as something on the higher end, but it is very pleasent.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
For the most part I'm an electric player, and it takes some time for me to get use to playing on this style of guitar, but so far the playing experience has been rather nice. The action is comparable with most classical guitars I have tried, and the fretwork is great for the price. This guitar has no flaws at all.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I'm going to use this guitar for bedtime noodling and the occasional recording, so I don't plan on tearing it up. The guitar is small and light, which is perfect for trips, if I do chose to take the guitar out.

Customer Support : 9
I have not dealt with Cordoba, but I bought the guitar through Musiciansfriend. I have had a few issues with them in the past, and their customer service is rather good. They overcharged me for shipping, and I was able to get the charge taken off in a 5 minute phone call.

Overall Rating : 9
This is my first venture into classical guitars. I have been playing for 8 years now, and I thought it was about time to get one. This is a great guitar for the price, and is definetely worth a look for anyone looking for a good classical to start off with

2002 Cordoba 20 Classical Nylon String Guitar
Handmade in Spain w/ a solid (unheard of in this price range) cedar top, mahogony back, sides and neck w/ a rosewood fingerboard.

Sound : 8
smooth lows....no rattle or vibration
nice sounding highs...not too "plunky" sounding

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Great action...my guitar is new but did not need any "break in" period. Pretty wood grain throughout the guitar.
Tuners are plastic (drawback) but this is often found in higher end classical nylon strings.
Looks / sounds like a much higher-end classical guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I have only had the guitar a short time. It appears to be very durable and reliable. Stays in tune pretty well, even after playing with a heavy right hand.
Plastic tuners are the biggest asthetic drawback.

Guitar Center (Denver)
EXCELLENT Customer service and support. I have purchased many items from them (guitars, keyboard, supplies, etc.) and have always had a great experience. They have always matched / beaten any price that I have brought in that is cheaper than their advertised price.

Overall Rating : 8
this is my third classical nylon string guitar. All have been lower-end but the Cordoba 20 plays like a much more expensive guitar. It is completely hand made and has a solid top.
I played several guitars before purchasing this one and actually didn't see the price before playing it. It compares (sound wise) to much more expensive brands.
