Basic Classic Acoustic.

I did like the sound. It was a deeper darker sound than the rest of the classicals I have played.

I give it a 1 here and why you might ask? 2 days after I bought my cordoba c3 the bridge plate, yes, the whole dang bridge plate popped off while it was in a humicase. no i did not over tighten my strings. no it wasnt the case that did it either. it was just simply a lack of glue.

Reliability/Durability : 1

I've been playing off and on for 20 years now with honestly not much experience in the classical department, but I would say i know a quality instrument when I see one and folks, this just aint the one.

From the website: "The newest model in the Iberia Series lineup, the C3 is a handcrafted and affordable guitar. Cedar Top ??? Mahogany Back & Sides ??? Lacquer Finish ??? 650MM Scale ??? 52MM Width at Nut ??? Rosewood Fingerboard ??? Nickel Plated Tuning Machine ??? Spanish Cedar Neck ??? Rosewood Bridge"

For $199 bones, taking into account the laminate back and sides, an awesome deal.

I am a steel string player whose main axe is a Guild D55. The Cordoba is a highly resonant guitar. A bit on the dark side, with a little more bass sustain. Imagine Neil Young playing a classical guitar. I really love the sound, especially for the price point!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Set up was great. Low action (good for me) and I will switch to D'Addario "hard" strings at the suggestion of the sales dude at GC. Top is perfectly bookmatched Canadian cedar, really beautiful.

Inside, the work looks clean. Not Yamaha clean (the build quality on a cheap Indonesian Yamaha is a wonder to behold) but good enough. Fret ends are a little on the sharp side, but for 199 bones folks . ..

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this bad boy will open up since it has a solid wood top. And if it sounds THIS good out of the box . . .

As far as gigging without a backup: it isn't electric. The only disaster I could imagine is if somehow, all the glue came undone and the thing fell apart on stage. And if that happened, everyone would talk about it and I would become famous.

I've been playing three years, switching from trumpet. I think this is a fabulous deal for the money and I would HIGHLY reccomend this guitar.

Other gear: Guild D-55, Yamaha FG750S, Yamaha F325, Epi Casino (1997), Fender Lite Ash Tele, Epi Dot Studio, Agile 3100LP, SX SST62 (best Strat copy on Planet Earth - visit www.rondomusic.com), amps galore, yadda, yadda
