The Cordoba Fusion Pro 14 "Rose" is a cutaway acoustic-electric guitar. Finish is glossy (not what manufacturer calls 'natural' which I consider a 'satin'), mother-of-pearl rosette and purling, and the B-Band A5T pickup system. The Fusion 14 comes equipped with gold tuners with black buttons, Savarez 500CR Cristal Corum normal tension strings, and a Humicase classical size guitar case. Be ware! Sites selling this guitar may list it as PRO, which has solid BACK, TOP and SIDES of Rosewood. This guitar (non-PRO) is solid TOP Rosewood and LAMINATED Back and Sides.
Cordoba Fusion models are nylon-string guitars for steel-string musicians. They are the first guitars to merge the acoustic bracing and tone of a traditional nylon with the thinner neck and fast action of a steel string. Radiused fretboards and 14 fret neck-to-body construction make these the most comfortable crossover guitars for steel string and electric players. The cutaway body style makes playing on the upper frets a breeze.
The B-Band A5T system features a slider 4-band EQ and volume control, notch filter and frequency rotary controls, phase button, low battery-LED, and full range chromatic tuner. The fully chromatic tuner has an LED strip that shows the note and individual LEDs showing the half step, sharp, flat, and in-tune
Sound

Not sure if this is an issue with Cordobas, the Fusion line or just this one guitar. An annoying accompaniment buzz is coming from the inside. It is not fret buzzing, a sunken top from humidity. It MIGHT be a loose wire, the battery holder or bracing. Other than that the sound is deep and rich. Not punchy like a Flamenco (spruce and cypress woods). Some might consider the lower register a bit muddy (Rosewood). If it did not have the buzzing issue, I'd give it a 7 for sound.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
Action seems high. Typically classical should be 3-4mm. I'd say this is in 5-6mm range. It can be lowered. Again I think there could be an issue with the bracing (buzzing). It does seem to go out of tune quite fast and often. Finish has some imperfections, but nothing noticeable. Frets seem filed fine. I own a Martin 000-28. I'd say the finishing and craftsmanship in the Martin would be a '10' and the Cordoba Rose would be a 7-8.
Reliability/Durability

I own a Martin 000-28 (which cost $2400 compared to the Cordoba $900). The Martin is SOLIDLY built and will last for generations. Both guitars use Rosewood for top, back and sides. But the Cordoba has laminated Rosewood backs and sides. BUT, the Martin feels way heavier. I'm attributing that to beefier bracing to withstand the stress of steel strings and being solid Rosewood. All in all I think the Cordoba will not fair well over time. It may not have much to do with the guitar being made in China. But the issue with the buzzing tells me that this line or those made in China for Cordoba might be skimping somewhere. I'm returning this Cordoba Fusion 14 ROSE and shopping around. I MAY end up getting another one, if it has the same issues I'll be sure to write a review and finally 'write-off' the Cordoba Fusion line. Hoping that it's just this one guitar.

I've written National Sales Manager from Cordoba a few times. He is a straight shooter, honest and direct. So, I guess Cordoba is a good company.

Playing for 15 years???acoustic. I wish I had played the guitar before buying it. MusiciansFriend.com (seller) is making the return simple (45 day try out period), but I still have to pickup return shipping cost. It looks beautiful and SOUNDED wonderful, until the buzzing appeared. I love the Rosewood look, Venetian cutaway, the rich tone, the slim neck, understated classy appointments (black peg heads, ornate peg plates, gold tuners, mother of pearl inlay around the sound hole)??????I hate the buzzing and the fear that all of the Fusion line suffers from the buzzing. Again, I'm going to look around and see if I can't find another guitar with a thin neck, Venetian cutaway, electronics, solid top, (maybe solid back and sides) in the $500-$900 dollar range. If I can't, I'll try my luck with another Cordoba Fusion 14 ROSE and hope it doesn't buzz.
