My Cordoba Pro-R was built In Spain, German Spruce top, Indian Rosewood sides & back, Honduran Ceder neck, Ebony fret board, Rosewood laminated face on the head stock, Gold Tuners. I also purchased the HumiCase (SKB) when I got the guitar, "BEAUTIFUL".

Sound : 10
I love the sound of classical guitars, I've had a few and this one, the Cordoba Pro-R is perfect in every way! When I first inspected this guitar, I looked for any "flaw" I just couldn't find any. The tone is very full and open, there is a beautiful harmonic tone just after you pluck a note, that sustains that I can't hear from lower priced instruments and instruments from other makers. When I tried many Classicals, from almost every maker, the only Ramirez Guitar that would sound as good was over $4,000.00? and most of the Ramirez Classicals were "LAMINATED??" Guitars from one another, even the same model can all sound different. I'm very happy with this instrument, the only thing that I did was lower the action a little, every person has there own likes and the guitar is setup for different players. I also strung the Pro-R with "Ramirez" Medium Tension strings, a serious classical guitar friend recommended and I have to say they are some of the best Classical strings that I've ever played! A big difference from the original strings (D'Addario pro-art) they were nice but not great? I love the D'Addario EXL120 electric guitar strings for my PRS's and Fender Showmaster Strat, but when it comes to Classical guitars, Great strings make a difference.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The Cordoba Pro-R was set up very nice! When you sight down the neck, the frets look perfectly straight, no humps or dips. When I play the guitar there is no buzz at any location, and that's after lowering the action! I like to be able to play fast passages from time to time (Di Meola, Paco etc.) Very warm note detail with a focus tone that has emotion.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It's been a while since I had a Classical, but most of them, the higher models, you should take more care of them. Temp & Humidity will make a difference, I can't give an opinion at this time, but the build of the guitar looks like it could handle abuse, not that I would want to subject it to harsh treatment, but it will sound great in the studio.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't delt with them, but I hope that if I ever have to, that the result would be good.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 30 yrs, I'm into Classical Jazz Rock, Progressive Fusion Pop. I've wanted another Classical for some time now, I've owned many Taylors and Martins, and as acoustics they've been great! But I like the tone of a classical guitar in jazz also!
there is a warmth that only classicals can produce, the Cordoba Pro-R
is a wonderful instrument, awesome tone and it will only get better as it ages! I'm not a full time Classical player, I'm more into electric guitars (Fender, PRS, Bogners etc.) but when I do pick up a classical I want it to produce a wonderful playing feel, tone with harmonic content, beauty to look at and at this price, this is a wonderful purchase! If your a serious classical player there are guitars in the thousands that sound wonderful! The Cordoba Pro-R has that something that I love, it has a life and emotion that you can feel! An "ALL SOLID" Rosewood, Ebony, Ceder, Spruce Classical with that something special is very hard to find and I feel lucky that I found this Guitar!

Purchased new a year ago for $1100. Carries serial# 16040244. Standard 19-fret classical. It is clearly solid wood construction, rosewood body, spruce top, ebony fingerboard, beautiful rosette and inlaid bridge. Purportedly handmade Spain. Looks rich, not flashy.

Sound : 10
No buzzes or rasps. Basses crisper than high strings but I haven't played it that much so it is slow to break in. I compared it with a $3000 Ramirez in the store and thought the Cordoba sounded better overall; and the Ramirez DID buzz in the low E and A strings fretted and non-fretted with moderate striking. This is not a loud guitar compared to my flamenco instrument, for instance, but carries well enough and I expect it will achieve brighter treble with age. Bass strings sound quite mature now.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Well-finished, no gluespots visible inside, fit is precise throughout. The fretwork seems well-tuned to me, since it required less finger effort to play, compared with the Ramirez and there is no buzz on any string. The cedar neck is pieced where it joins the body (because of the ebony reinforcement) and the two cedar pieces do not perfectly match in color, one being a couple shades darker. This is not very noticeable but is a minor flaw in my opinion.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I think it will hold together, based on the fit and apparent quality of the woods used. The hardware is gold-plated and a tad ornate for my ususal tastes, but tuning is very solid and secure - no play discernable by me at all.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Lifetime warranty with the humidifying case. Haven't had to access customer support but I notice the apparent support dealer has changed (at least names) since I bought the guitar.

Overall Rating : 9
Played off and on for more than 40 years. This is the best instrument overall that I have owned. I have had a Japanese manufactured mid-price true flamenco instrument going on 35 years now, but every other guitar has passed by the wayside. I don't expect I'll need more than this Cordoba and my beat-up flamenco guitar for the rest of this lifetime. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not looking around for anything better now like I do two weeks after I buy a new sportscar. My Cordoba Pro-R seems very high quality, much different from the experience of sktn77a. Seems every handmade guitar is different. (read reviews for the 75-R)

Made in 2005. Solid spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides. Ebony re-inforced cedar neck. Van Gent tuners. Nice looking guitar.

Sound : 7
A little muted right now - probably the spruce top needs to "open up". A little lacking in sustain on the higher frets of the non-wound strings, especially the high E string. Nice Bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Low action a buzzes when played loudly. Will need a $100 to $120 fret dressing and setup, so add this to the "price paid". Some glue residue inside, otherwise nicely finished.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Hopefully the wood and finish are thick enough to prevent cracking/splitting but only the years will tell!

Customer Support : 1
Tried getting some information on the guitar from Guitar Center, Guitar Salon International and Tornavoz Music (importer) but they either didn't know or wouldn't tell (?)

Overall Rating : 7
Probably a good buy at $750 but not at the usual street price of $1100. As for the reatil price of $2600 - what planet do they live on???
