Cort AJ982

Western Style Dreadnought. Oval soundhole. The sides and back are Rosewood ply. The neck is mahogany. The front is spruce ply.

The sound is full midrange, with bright high tones. The bass (sixth) string comes out a little shy. Overall a very nice sounding guitar, though it has it's own flavor of sound.

Fantastic player guitar, considering it's low investment cost. Action is low and comfortable, no buzzing. The finish is glossy. Nice looking guitar. Short falls are the nut and saddle, made of cheap plastic. The machine heads look like schallers and work as good as schallers. This guitar stays in tune !! I hope to replace the nut and saddle with quality parts someday and I hope she really comes alive. This is a live
performing guitar, but again it's sound has a unique flavor.

I found this guitar in a Daddy's Store hiding in a corner. It was dirty, grimmy, covered with sticky beer and/or soda. It looked like it was ready for the garbage. Some reason it called out to me to try it. Discovering it had Rosewood sides and back, made me think someone put some effort in building it. I wasn't impressed with the sound while playing it in the store. But it did play nicely !! Took it home, stripped it. Cleaned it up, polished it up, Put on some Martin Strings (they're the best!). Now I would never give this guitar up. I think it's
a gem, it's my practice guitar and if I learn enough songs, I will electrify this baby and use it at gigs.

Don't no much about Cort. I've seen there electrics before and
visually they didn't impress me.

I have a Takamine which nears a Martin sound and I love to play it. But this sweet guitar has better playability. If I ever perform I will be bringing both guitars and probably play the Cort mostly, except for songs that really need a strong bass sound.
