Don't know much about the guitar, just bought it from the shop, didn't bother asking after I'd played it a little. Decent tuners, they'll keep it in tune for a month as long as you put it down every so often. Dreadnought body, and a gloss satin finish. 21 frets.

Sound : 9
Might just be my untrained ear (this is only my second guitar, and my first was a ??50 Encore classical), but it sounds amazing and outclasses all of the other acoustics I've played. Recently restrung it with some ernie ball medium strings, and they just added to the tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The only problem I've had with it is that it seems to attract dirt from nowhere. Easily sorted by using a cloth to brush it away though, so that's not any great problem. The weight's just right and it feels nice in your hands.I like how it only has fret markers from the fifth fret down though.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The tuners seem like they'll last after the cockroaches, and the bridge barely shows any sign of 6 months on. It dents quite easily, but would last in a live show without a backup for certain.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them, not much to go wrong with an acoustic.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for about 3 years, mainly other peoples guitars, and I own a cheapy ??50 encore classical guitar. This would blow away any of the other acoustics I've ever played. Well worth the money.

This is the Cort Earth 70 NS and is a Dreadnought body style.
The guitar incorporates a dovetail neck joint. The guitar includes a Solid Sitka Spruce Top which seems to give a fuller, more 'woody' tone to the overall sound compared to the laminated ply that dominates the majority of guitars in this price bracket. The back, neck and sides are all made from Mahogany which adds to the deeper 'woody' sound that this guitar does so well. The fingerboard on this guitar is Rosewood and has a Gloss Satin finish. A gig bag was included when I bought the guitar which is durable and dependable. The tuners that are featured arent a major brand, they 'do the job' but they could be better.

Sound : No Opinion
The style of music that I am into is mainly worship music and some rock and indie.
The guitar has a rich sound also can be trebly especially when you're giving it full wellie in terms of strumming but that suits me and the way I play so is not a concern for me.
It has a nice sound when fingerpicked although is a bit on the quiet side although, given it is a Dreadnought that is to be expected. This guitar shines when strummed and gives a full tonal range although could have less treble but that is depend on the strings that you put on it. The ones that I use are Martin's (light gauge) which seem to suit the guitar's overall sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was professionally set up by the people in the shop when I bought it and made a big difference in terms of the playability and action of the guitar itself. The top is properly bookmatched which gives it a uniformed look and the bridge is properly routed.
The only issue that I have encountered is the tuning pegs which could be better and often means (especially when 'capoing') that one of the strings tends to go out of tune.
Another thing that I would have liked on the guitar was another strap button.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar will withstand live playing and is built like a rock. I would have no problems playing this guitar live. The hardware is durable and I haven't had any problems with it so far apart from the tuning pegs (mentioned earlier in the review). The finish is good enough to last although, there are a few straches although, that is down to my style of playing more than anything else.
The strap buttons are solid and will last although I would prefer the addition of another one (Cort, please take note).
It is a dependable guitar and I would use it at a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nothing on the guitar has had to be repaired as the guitar is solid enough not to need to be repaired! The warranty is for a year and I have not had to deal with the company at present.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for about 10 years and have a Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus (a great alternative to the pricer Gibson counterpart, in my opinion), a battered old Squier Stratocaster and a Ibanez SR-300 FM Bass guitar. I would buy another Cort Earth 70 NS purely becuase of the ease of playability, although, if I had more cash, I would buy the Earth 100R (the next stage up in this particualr line of Cort guitars). I love firstly becuase of the range of sounds you can achieve from a guitar in this price range which is something to bear in mind when comparing this to Tanglewood and Ozark guitars, both of which dont have this quality. I dislike the fact of the absence of another strap button on the guitar especially if youre gonna play it live. I think that this guitar is superb for the money and a worthwile investment, either as a backup or your main guitar.
