Unknown-most likely plywood

Sound : 10
These sound fantastic for old rock-n-roll and pop music. I was playing The Zombies tune "Time Of The Season" on it today and it has a perfect clean sound. The 3 pick-ups have 5 settings like a Strat but sound different-more Beatles, jangly. It's a great rhythm guitar. Had to tune it often. but I suspect it is because strings are new. Fun to play!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is fine all the way up the neck. Bar chords even at the high Am were easy to play. I do not know a lot about mechanics, if it sounds good, I like it....It does need to be tuned often, but it has an adjustable bridge so that should not be a problem.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I never gig without a back-up! That is the fun of being a rhythm guitar/lead singer. I get to show off all my cool guitars! Besides, break a string and the show stops...Finish (blackburst) is nice, and the guitar is heavier than other Danos. It reminds me of Lennon's Rick 325, small scake easy for chording.

I have been playing for 38 years-live gigs since 1979. I realized that my favorite bands like The Beatles did not use expensive gear, yet they got what I feel is the best guitar sounds going. I have a Ricky and LOVE it, but for 255.00 this Dano is a great deal and a solid pop guitar! Get one while you can-they are going to go UP!
