2003, 369 of 500, other reviewer says handmade in Korea but the guitar didn't have any indication of where it was made...

It's a straight up maple acoustic with piezo and pre-amp, I really wanted a maple fretboard and they're rare on acoustics

Sound : 9
beautiful sound, clear, higher overall because of the maple, sounds great through my Maz 18 junior or without amplification

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
very good

Reliability/Durability : 8
seems solid, arrived from the Music Farm with a cracked neck. Music Farm and Dean were good. I wanted to keep it and get it repaired locally which they paid for without a hassle.

Customer Support : 9
Music Farm were very good re the problem above. Deam provided an email stating that the repair in no way voided my 5-year warranty, except for the repair which is backed by the local shop

Overall Rating : 10
I really like this guitar but really don't understand why they didn't sell like hotcakes, great value, super case.

Made in 2003... Handmade in Korea... Limited edition - 500 are being made... This one is #72... Comes with certificate of authenticity... Solid Spruce Top... Flamed Maple sides and back... Gloss finish... Tortoise Shell Binding... The neck's rosewood inlays denote Peace, Beauty, Wisdom, Grace, Courage, Clarity, Enlightenment... Rosewood inlays around the sound hole have a I Ching motif... Fishman Classic 4 preamp... Grover Tuners... Custom Hard Case included... This guitar really is a work of art.

Sound : 9
The unplugged sound has really good midrange and highs... The base is starting to deepen with use... I use a Crate acoustic amp with the Zen... It has a very sweet sound plugged and unplugged... I like roots music, folk, and blues... Being able to plug in and work with the sound makes this guitar good for most kinds of music.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar came set up... I use medium strings... It is easy to play... Fit and finish are more than I expected... The rosewood inlays are laser cut... The piece of spruce used for the sound board, turned out to be Sitka Bearclaw spruce... Most cool.

Reliability/Durability : 9
So far I haven't taken it out of the house... It looks like it will hold up fine... Seems solid enough.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It comes with a 5 year warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing off and on for 40 years... I don't play as well as I'd like to... But I always have fun playing... And this is a fun guitar to look at, and to play... If it were lost or stolen I would buy another one... I really like the way it looks... It's just so unique... But that may also limit it's appeal... Some folks may not understand the way it looks... You can't really compare this to any other guitar... This is a keeper.
