Sound : 10
I mainly play folk, irish, scottish and singer-songwriter stuff.
Suitable for strumming, fingerpicking, quick riffs and solos. Full bodied sound, with warm bass and natural high, overall tone is clear, full and a richness of harmonic overtones. Unbeleaveble sustain. From subtle fingerpicking to rocking strumming. You cannot believe the clearity of sound. Even higher up the scale you get a clear tone.

I cannot think of any dislikes of this guitar, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.

I'm owning it for 2 months now and gave it a thorough "abuse" I'm certain it will get sounding better with the aging of the woods.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Guitar was almost perfectly set up from factory, it came however with a light buzzing sound, when strumming the thick E string. At first you could hardly notice it, but since I'm a nitpicker, I noticed it after 2 days and when I played it in the store I'm certain it wasn't there. This turned out to be an easy fix: the topnut had to filed out a wee bit more, otherwise perfect. I think this is not a typical issue for Eastman. The action is extremely low.

The woodworks are top notch, top spec woods, with beautiful tigerstripes on the back and wild flamed sides! You can instantly see it: Eastman knows how to build instruments.

This is a truly hand crafted guitar for a price that sweeps the competition brands of their feet!

I'm rating it a 9, because of the tiny imperfection on the factory set up, otherwise I would have rated it a 10.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is true gem, and with some care, it looks it will last forever.

Hardware is of high quality and probably will last.

Same goes for the finsh. It's certainly dependable, and I would use it without a backup guitar.

Customer Support : 8
As said before, it came with a small imperfection, but the distributor took care of it and fixed this immediatly.

It comes with a limited lifetime warranty for the first owner, registration on the website is needed for this.

I mostly dealt with the dealer and they're very helpful and friendly.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for some 10 odd years. My other gear consists of: a 1993 Seagull S6 CW with L.R. Baggs electronics tuned into DADGAD for the celtic and folky stuff I play and a 1998 Godin LGT electric guitar with a Mesa Boogie Studio Caliber DC 2.

If some bast*rd even got the idea of stealing it, I would track and hunt him/her down, to get it back, haha.

I first was made aware of the Eastman guitars by my local dealer, as I was looking for a new Taylor or Martin, but ended up with this one, because I thought it was far superior to these guitars, even compared to much more expensive guitars in the ??? 2000 - ??? 3000 pricerange. Considering I've only paid ??? 1250, this is a real bargain!

If I could wish for anything more it would have, it would be a built in mic for picking up the true sound of the guitar, but if I want to record or require a even more natural sound on stage, I'll use a good condenser mic anyway.
