Hello, I don't need to offer you all the technical jargon and stats about this guitar, as you can easily check that out yourself if you look at any retailer selling the AJ15

This is quite possibly the worst guitar I have ever owned. I purchased it back in 2001 from GAK in the UK for around ??180 as far as I can recall, but I was severely dissapointed by the sound. It was horrible and tinny.

The workmanship on the guitar was amongst the worst I have ever seen on a budget guitar. Not that I am expecting Guild like quality, but there were Yamaha acoustics I foolishly passed up for half the price with better workmanship than this. The neckboard was horrible, frets felt like they had been left out in the rain and felt coppery and powdery.
The hardware was average.

I sold it on ebay after using it about three times because everything was so sub-standard.

I'm a beginner, but my brother plays many acoustics from Martin's to Taylor's and the bottom line with this guitar is, for the price you cannot beat it. The guitar feels great, that's a major point in any guitar you play. The guitar sounds bright and clean, I strung up new Martin acoustic strings and they sound even better and hold a better tune. The tuning hold very well. The action on mine is a little higher than I would prefer, which gives a good strumming sound, but gives your fingers a work-out on barre chords and picking. Mine came with a fitted Epiphone case from a family owned shop for a grand total of $160.

The sound is rich and full, for what I paid for this guitar, you couldn't imagine asking for more. This guitar isn't noisy, and seems to be focused on acoustic/folky sounds as opposed to a friends Ovation that seemed to be more suited towards heavier music.

As stated early, the action is high. That has its pros and cons within itself. But for someone who is acclimated to playing guitars this may be a good thing. A simple set-up at a guitar shop can fix that. The quality of this guitar has really outdone the price as far as fitting the nut and bridge. No flaws were seen throughout it. The finish is glossy and stays pretty for the last two and a half years I've had it.

This guitar really seems like it will last. Everything seems solid. Has been used in small venue gigging and had no problems.

I purchased my AJ 15 NA in around 1998, Serial number Z98040199. Not sure of where it was made. It's a basic, attractive and easy playing guitar.
It's a working guitar and I've happy with it's features.
(Worth noting that I purchased mine pre-fitted with a Vestaxunit to turn it into an electro-acoustic).

I've used this on stage many a time and at homes, and at parties.
On stage it's always been using the Vestax unit which has EQ/Presence.
It's got a clean sound and is easy enough to play.
IT's loud enough for small to medium rooms (think mate's party!).

I received it set up and ready to go from a dealer in Leeds.
Couldn't have been happier with it.
It played well with no buzz and no rattles.
that said, it's not 8 years on and one of the machine heads sometimes rattles a little.

It's a #250 guitar that I#ve gigged, taken to parties and not been precious about.
It's still one of my favourite home guitars to pick up whenever I had a few minutes.

I live this guitar a lot.
It's no Taylor, but it cost a tenth opf the price of a taylor.
It sounds bright, loud, is very easy to play and has served me well despite being abused sometimes!
I have played a couple of friends' Taylors, and Yamahas etc.
THe taylor win on tone, but on playability (i.e. not recording your album), I'd pick up my Epiphone.
More recently I purchased the Acoustic Variax Modelling guitar, which is great, but needs to be plugged in etc. So when I want to spend 5 mins playing, i still go back to my Epiphone.
Of course if there were any equipment snobs present, I'd make the effort to plug in the Variax!
I recommend trying this guitar - I like it, and the previous reviewer hated it. It's worth a look.
