This review is for the Esteban LE Turquoise acoustic guitar, with nice protective case, 'lil 10 watt amp (not the cheap 5 watter), picks, 5 teaching cd's, good strap, and official paper that states mine is # 1547 of only 10,000 made. Limited edition? The Man himself signed the label inside the guitar. Wow. 10,000 times. Wow. Just drop-dead gorgeous to gaze at, rich white abalone around the front edge and headstock, white trim along the back edge, neck, and headstock. Has what appears to be bats flying on the headstock. Big pearloid inlays on the neck, with another bat on the 12th fret.
Mine has tusq nut and saddle- neat. Electronics built-in on the topside. Beautiful rosette around the hole with turquoise and silver; same turquoise on the back in a fake 3-piece back pattern. Won't come off, varnished over well. Lots of clear varnish over every inch of this guitar. Good silver tuners, not great. On the back is an outline of the USA, kinda blobby, and shorts the entire East coast! Fun- whose idea was that? On the Esteban website, this model is described as 'solid wood, spruce top.' Sounds like a solid spruce top, not laminate, but the wording is not clear. Gorgeous back and sides of some wood I have never heard of, laminates. Overall, this guitar works visually, every angle is beautiful and very, very pretty.

I bought this as 60% joke, 40% out of curiosity. 100.00 for everything, was at the ready to sell if I had to. Read the reviews on several sites, 95% very, very bad on other Esteban guitars. So, got it and played a chord with a pick; surprising...long harmonic delay, a sweeter sound I have not heard on ANY other guitar. Changed the strings to Alchemy 12's PB (they do not wear out), even better sound. Some guitar impress with bass, some with clear piercing treble, others with sheer volume. This IMMEDIATELY impresses with sweet, beautiful sounds- every single note. Has bass, has gorgeous treble, every single note sounds perfect, and rings for a long, long time. The impression it leaves is that it sounds melodically richer than most guitars, and has perfect intonation. I have around 10 acoustics, this SOUNDS the best, like a beautiful-sounding instrument should. Not as woody or as bassy or as deep as some, for sure, but it adds up to a complete 10. String definition on this is a joy to hear. I play this one more than my other guitars, without even thinking about it.

Absolutely perfect. The action is low and never buzzes, the seams are true. I have looked hard to find a single error on this guitar, and everything is perfect. Wow.
Reliability/Durability

Kinda medium- light, seems like it would crack if it got dropped or bumped something. Like many guitars, except for something like Guilds or older Epi's, whcih seem like tanks.

I have owned...gulp...a lot acoustics in the past year. This guitar is a treat, worth every single penny and more. I think they sell for around 200.00 or so on ebay, maybe still on the Esteban website for more. Extremely surprising, for the sweet tones and rich harmonic echoes. Perfectly balanced tone. I have not played the other Esteban models- and maybe that is a good thing. But I am planning on keeping this unique, gorgeous guitar forever. Great job Esteban!

The finish is solid black, with lots of turqouise and mother-of-pearl inaly, front and back. Finish is very shiney and free of blemishes. Could use a little more buffing where neck inlay joins the nut. Dreadnaught body with microphone pick in saddle and on board sliding faders type EQ, volumn control, and low battery light. The neck is average width/thickness, but feels just right to my hands. Has 20 frets, none too high or low, no buzzing strings, neck perfectly stright, has beautiful pearl dove-shaped fret markers. Don't see a brand name ont tuners, but they are robust, enclosed, and chrome has a high polish. Don't know what kind of wood body is made of. Internal body struts are tapered. Comes with 10 watt amp, reinforced gig bag that is nearly nice as a hardshell including plush lining.

I bought this guitar to play rythm for country music, and to finger pick a variety of styles from bluegrass to semi-clasic. It has lighter guage strings that give it a good, bright sound. I'm wondering what it will sound licke with a set of medium guage bluegrass strings. Sounds good through amp, which has a distortion button. Overall, I'm well pleased with this guitar.

the action is set high at the bridge, and I'm planning on sandpapering about the thchness of a dime of the bottom og the bridge. Action just right hight at the bridge. The neck feels good, no "raw" frets. Only flaw I could find was plug-in for cable was loose, needed the nut tightened about half a turn. THe solid black finish is excellent. All hardware was in fine shape

I've just had this guitar for a week, so can't rate reliablity. Comes with a year warranty, and seems like it will be reliable. No matter what brand guitar used, I would never do a gig without a backup. I'm going to be using this one for mostly jamming with my buddies

I've been playing nearly forty years. When I jam, its mostly country music and I use a Peavy flattop. I wanted this electric/accoustic so I can be heard over the crowd at times. At home, I prefer to play a wide variety of tunes using a finger picking style. I play bluegrass/old country on my bnajo with some friends a couple times a month. Enjoy playing my Peavy bass when I get the chance. What I like best about my Esteban is it's goods looks and decent sound, a great value for my money
