Just the basics.
It came with some accessories and a video.
The gig bag could be better used to gig frogs.
Sound
:
1
All I can say is yeah, it made sound.
It didn't have much finish. Think they used shoe polish
for the fretboard.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
2
The action would be better suited for a dobro.
Did the guitar contain any flaws?
Flaws would probably be a kind description for this thing.
Reliability/Durability

My daughter bought it and I played it once.
She played it for a couple weeks. Then one
day I arrived home from work and there it was
hanging from a tree limb minus strings. She got so
ticked off with various problems that she decided
to turn it into a bird house.
So far after 6 weeks in the tree no birds have moved
in, but there is bird crap all over it.

I've played Diddly Bows that looked played and sounded better.
My daughter quickly lost interest in playing guitar after
owning this one. So if you don't want your kid to play
guitar, I highly recommend getting them an Estaban.

its sounds okay on the first week -but it starts sounding like crappier as time goes on -even if you change the strings. It has a nice light tone to it before the neck starts warping and the fretboard starts rubbing away.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
3
The fit and finish of this thing is the worst I have ever seen -the paint on the fretboard is rubbing away on not just one -but two models my friends own. the wood must be of very poor quality because it has only been six months and one of the guitars fretboards is warped to the point that it is unplayable. The action wasnt bad before it started deteriorating, so I gave it a 3 for that.
Reliability/Durability
:
1
Well one showed up in the mail broken (cracked body) -the other has a warped neck that renders it unplayable along with all the paint coming off of the fretboard. The third has the paint coming off -and the neck is a little warped.

Well, it isnt very good because it falls apart. I would give it a much higher rating if it held together and sounded like it did when my friend first got them. Its not really a good idea to buy these, unless you want to play a show then smash your guitar at the end.

I have read the reviews on this product and I don't share the majority opinion of this guitar. I have been playing guitar for 33 years and currently play mostly on an Ovation Balladeer Special. For a $100.00 guitar that I purchased for my daughter to learn on, I am quite satisfied. I wouldn't go out and buy for me, but for a starter it is good. I am pleased with the overall appearance. The tuners look and work fine and I see no evidence of bad workmanship. Some have complained that the strings are too far off of the neck, which might be a valid argument, but this guitar is to LEARN on and if you can play with the action on this, then you will be able to play anything. I found it quite acceptable. Again, I prefere my Ovation, but this is a STARTER guitar!
Sound
:
7
It has a loud full sound, somewhat tinny, and it could use better strings. I found it easy to play. It holds its tune well. When a student gets better and naturally wants a better guitar, then this will make a good guitar for taking to the beach, camping, etc.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The action is not as good as on my guitar or the $1200.00 guitar I'm eyeing at the local music store, but if you want that kind of action, then go pay $1,200.00 for it. The strings are kind of high off the neck, but if you can play this, you will really love a much better guitar. Nothing was loose, the finish is nearly flawless, but, again, it cost $100.00. For that money, I am quite satisfied.

I'm not sure what live playing is, as opposed to dead playing? This guitar seems like it will last. I would not use this in a band, if that is what is meant by live playing, but this guitar is not MEANT to be played in a band. It is meant for the beginner and occassional player. But this guitar will play.

I have been playing 33 years. Like I said above, I have a Takimine and an Ovation and I think it actually plays better than my Takimine, but then my Takimine is fairly old. This is the best "low end" guitar I have probably played. I'm sure if my daughter really takes to the guitar, she will want a better one, but this will still play well in the future when she wants to play but isn't concerned about taking it camping or whatever. There is a world of difference between spending $2,000.00 on a guitar and spending $100.00 and you get what you pay for. But the guitar we received in the mail is good and I am happy with it.
Like with anything, it is the Golfer, not the clubs, that is the key. You can learn to play on this guitar, and if you already know how to play, you can play this one and make it sound very good. If you can't, then I would suggest you learn how to play. But of course there are much better guitars out there and a more experienced player will want a better guitar just like a more experienced golfer will appreciate a better set of clubs, or a tennis player a better racket. But for starting out I think its fine and the instruction video is ok too, though I'm not sure its worth $30.00 on the internet (the videos came with the guitar). No they aren't hollywood, but they are much better than anything I had when I started out.
I will probably watch to see if my daughter likes the guitar and wants to play. Once she has demonstrated a real interest, then I will upgrade.

I just bought this guitar on a online auction. The guitar had a big CRACK on the neck.I think I must of been on CRACK when I bought it. The company is trying to blame the damage on transit, but who in the heck knows. After reading the other reviews, I think I will junk it out myself. The whole thing has been a headache from the start.

I saw this ad on late night TV and thought it looked like a typical inexpensive starter acoustic guitar. I have never found amazing tv offers to be worth what they say, but they did offer a lot of extra accessories and insructional video. The ad was slick and convincing.
Sound
:
2
The sound of the guitar used in the ad was excellent. If you thought that was what you were getting for your $149 you were bound to be disapointed. Most inexpensive guitars are made with heavier bracing or and sometimes a heavy top to mask the poor construction. These are sometimes tone dead and not very loud. But they usually hold up very well.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
2
An inexpensive guitar is never going to have the best finish work, but fret edges should not slice your fingers. Most starter guitars are not really made to be played above the 7th fret, so don't even think about it. Sometimes a trip to a good music store repair guy can make adjustments and set ups that will improve the playability and may be the only way to salvage a bad investment. Even cheap replacement saddles and tuners will be better than what came with the guitar.
Reliability/Durability
:
2
Do not expect to play in a band or use this for any length of time. As soon as your budget and skill level allow, get something better. A better investment at the beginning would have been more helpful over all, but buying a $500 instrument before you know if you want to stick with it makes no sense either. Evey one says, your first guitar should be the best you can afford. Buying a real cheap one just to see is self defeating.
Customer Support
:

It's hard to get good customer support from a faceless voice on the phone. I really hate the MEGA MUSIC CENTERS that are all over the place now, BUT....as a beginer, you can get some advice on what to buy and if you are not happy you have a face to get in if you need to. If you are an experienced player, you should know better than to buy anything off the tv at 3:00 am. A used Yamaha or Aria would have been a better investment if you were just looking for something to knock around.

I have to try to defend Chinese guitars here. Most mainland Chinese workers are proud of thier work and you can get a fair guitar from them. They build to the specifications of the seller. I have been playing since the late 70's punk days and had lots of cheap Japanese and Korean made guitars. Most played great. I will put my Univox up against any Les Paul and My Tempo is better than the 66 Jaguar I replaced it with. I'm sorry this guitar sucked. Bite the bullet and move on. It's good there is a forum like this to share info good and bad. I love this instrument and love making cheap ones play better. Evwry guitar you buy will be a learning experience, hopefully more of them good than bad.

Just an all out piece of shit being hocked by a con-artist who claims to have been partially bnlinded in a car accident. And by the looks of this guitar he ain`t lyin` about his blindness!!

I`m sure Esteban would be real supportive after someone stuck one of these beauties up his ass for ripping innocent people off. The guy can play but he`s an asshole. not sure what QVC `s return policy is but if you were one of the many who have been duped by this crook, you should return it to QVC with a letter saying that you can get a REAL guitar for $125.00 many other places elsewhere that can at least stay in tune and look nice enough and play decently unlike this piece of shit.

I also bought this "guitar" in hopes of playing (just starting out). Esteban, A.K.A Zoro told his story of wanting to give back to people by making a good guitar available to anyone. Well i've had the guitar for about 2 months and i'm still waiting for the good one to show up. At any rate, when my fingers stop bleeding enough to try and play again i'll probably have to spend the rest of my natural life trying to get it back in tune (if it ever was in tune). I'm not sure, do you tune on a daily basis? Well on this you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still cannot play and i have sooo much to learn, but i would never buy this peace of ---- again! If you happen to see Zoro, tell him to spend my hard earned money on a new ((conn)-science))!

Estaban! What a Joke! If you've seen his paid advetising on TV, he makes it look like you're getting a lot for your money. It's all total JUNK! The tuners appear to be made from recycled beer cans and won't stay tuned long enough to finish one song. This is not a good guitar. Do not buy one under any circumstances. I promise you will be sorry. As for Estaban, my crippled grandmother can play better. Anybody that dresses like Zorro, probably stalks little boys on the school playground!

Take a couple or rubber bands and stretch them over a cigar box. This will produce a better sound than the Estaban guitar! What kind of sound can this guitar make? Let's see... Bad, worse, awful, terrible, nasty, disgusting etc.

Offered a replacement if I paid shipping both ways and then only after guitar was inspected and determined to be defective. Doesn't anybody inspect them prior to shipping them out? Obviously not! No REFUNDS! What is going to make a second one any better than the first? I declined and I'm stuck with a piece of junk. A local music store that buys used instrument was not interested at any price. They said they would never be able to sell it and if they did, they would have to stand behind it. Someone else said firewood. That's about all it's good for. You can buy a brand new Johnson acoustic from Musician's Friend for $49.00 plus shipping. This is about the cheapest guitar on the market today. The Johnson will blow the Estaban away! I bought the Johnson cheaper than the shipping would have cost to return the Estaban and ship a new one.

Esteban is a deusche bag. He says that he toured through Europe playing at small clubs while he refined his sound. He didn't. The time that he says he spent in Europe was really spent working in a machine shop where I'm sure he didn't even see a guitar. If I ever met the bastard I would take off his lame sunglasses and spit in his one good eye. );

Ive been playing for six years and have owned five guitars in that time. I'm currently looking for a fifth. I think Im gonna get an American Series Fender Strat(I have a friend that works for Fender that can get me 60% off!).
I was so unhappy with this guitar that i couldn't even sell it. I gave it away to some poor indians. Hopefully they used it as firewood.
DO NOT EVER BUY THIS GUITAR! It shouldn't even be considered a guitar. If you ever see that fuck Esteban tell him Helen Keller could play as well as him. Seriously, the guy isn't even good at guitar. Listen to Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin. Tbey blow Esteban AND Helen Keller away.

spruce top, mahogany neck and bridge, herringbone stripe down back of body, tuner ( im not sure what instrument the tuners for because it doesnt tune guitars at all), gig bag, extra strings (ive never broken one of estebans strings and was wondering what brand they are? ), picks, strap, 20 frets, esteban cd (very inspirational for somg writing ideas), 4 guitar thin funny shaped picks, and a rocking esteban video showing you some complex guitar techniques youll never learn. all this stuff was worth over $800.00 they said on the commercial so i guess its a good deal for $250. the guitar is very ruggedly made.

i only play death metal and like this guitar for the fair amount of natural distortion it gives me from an acoustic guitar, i know thats is called buzzing frets because it came with a really bent neck, and the rusted out super tough strings that have been on it since it got sent from the factory in china, but it sounds distorted because of this stuff so i like it all in all. much better than a normal sounding acoustic guitar, unless you want a clean sound i guess. its a very loud guitar too. the strings never loose their tone for some reason. they rock.
Action, Fit, & Finish

the strings are really far off the fingerboard, about 2 inches at the 20th fret, which makes it a bit tough to do super fast solos, but i have the strings pretty much flopping off the fingerboard because i tune it to cannibal corpse (way down). i sometimes get cuts because the frets have started lifting in places. the guitar is painted with some kind of messy ink based stuff that gets on your clothes and hands until it wears off, takes a while though, i didnt much like that whole process and after its warn off you can get splinters because the wood is jaggedy where the fingerboard meets the base of the neck. the bridge also started lifting from the body but i filled it with aquarium silicone and it seems to be holding i also did this to part of the body and herringbone inlay because they also seperated a bit from the cold weather when i play outside gigs, they used cheap glue on this guitar for some reason. i might replace the tuning pegs because i think they unwind themselves when you do extreme string bends like i do. the plastic bridge piece broke too but still works i tried playing without it there so the strings would be closer but it doesnt sound as distorted or loud that way. its not an extremely well made but its the sound that you should be buying this guitar for. several frets dont work at the 7th through 15th frets because of the way the neck is bent but you can still get enough sound to play those frets, it just sounds more distorted and a little muffled. i dont think i has a stress rod in the neck for forcing it striaght again so dont order it if this isnt a feature your looking for
bottom line is this guitar is built to last and any problems are easily modified or can be adapted too without much trouble.

ive never broken a string for some reason and the guitar hasnt snapped in half yet so im gonna have to say its very reliable that way. ive been thinking of using it onstage when i start doing gigs and stuff alot, just to be different, ill probably put a seymour duncan invader in it eventually. and i really think that once the neck bends outward for awhile that it stops and the guitar has become solid at that point.

ive been playing it for about 6 months now non stop. ive been playing it outside in the winter and in rain as well and it hangs tough! i dropped it and whacked it off stuff too. if it got stolen id probably not buy another one but id look for something with the same tonal characteristics. i wish it had a whammy bar for doing cooler solos, and i wish the strings could go lower so i could play better wild solos on it and do sweep picking techniques like esteban. the gig bag, tuner , video, picks, finish, bridge, fret wires, and tuners on this guitar kinda suck but, if you cant afford a les paul and marshall, the sound of this guitar is 100% METAL!!
