This Farida doesnt have a lot of what I would call features unless you count things like having a neck and strings. It really is a no frills guitar and what I would call stripped down. No abalone or fancy inlays. Mine doesnt even have a scratch plate since I removed it. Looks better without it.

This guitar scores a 10 because even though it doesnt have the bass of a dreadnought, it is what I would call very vibrant. It is sensitive to playing style and has a bright but full tone. Very distinctive.

Immaculately built. Absolutely flawless. Plays great straight out of the box. Unbelievable for the price. Comes with a hard case too.

I have been playing all my adult life. I have owned more guitars than I care to remember. They all get sold on with very few exceptions. The only ones I will never get rid of are my old US Strat, my 1973 Yamaha FG160 and now this Farida. This is such an undeniably good guitar and when you take the price of it and the fact that you get a case with it, its all good as far as Im concerned. If you like a small bodied guitar that sounds fantastic and is a breeze to play then go and buy one.I bet these are worth a mint in 30 years time. Not that Ill be selling!

Dave D. above has described this guitar perfectly.
Very similar in size and weight to a Martin 0 style but not the Martin 016 New Yorker which has a wider neck.

I think this guitar sounds and plays well above its station.

Farida....horrid name, sounds like something Ford would put out.

I think this little guitar is great. It is not a Martin but it is not so far away from the sound, look and feel of the old 0's as the price would warrant.

This is a Chinese-made 'parlour' style guitar (somewhere between a '0' and '00' size) with a solid cedar top and laminated mahogany back and sides, supplied with a fitted hard case. The headstock is the slotted 'classical' style found on most parlour instruments and the neck joins the body at the 12th fret. The string spacing is fractionally narrower than the average dreadnought, but roomy enough for fingerpicking, which is the style in which the guitar performs best. The satin finish is immaculate.

As is often the case with parlour guitars, the sound is surprisingly loud, with a decent bass - given its size - and a nice top-end sparkle. The mid tones can be a bit 'woofy' further up the neck, but that's not too much of a worry for the fingerpicker. It was supplied with what felt like D'Addario EJ16s, but has benefited from being restrung with EJ19s (the Bluegrass set) to accentuate the bass a bit and help it cope better with the DADGAD and DGDGBD tunings I often use.

The guitar was playable from the minute it came out of the case and came with a tag indicating the set-up measurements. In the time I've owned it, it has stayed steady, even with the slightly increased string tension of the EJ19s.
I really did look hard for flaws in the finish; I really couldn't find any.

The guitar wasn't bought with live playing in mind. (I own a small camper-van and I wanted a guitar small enough to take with me on trips.) However, I'll be happy enough to use it for unamplified floor-spots at local folk clubs. The guitar doesn't have onboard electrics and I haven't tried mic-ing it up in a live context. It records quite nicely through a condenser mic on my home studio set-up, though.

I've played guitar for 45 (yes, forty-five) years. I currently own 4 other acoustics: a Martin D18; a Lowden O25; a Lowden O10; and a Takamine EAN10. I'm used to 'quality'. This guitar cost less than a quarter of what I paid for each of the first three and less than half what I paid for the Takamine. Since I bought it, it's held its own alongside the others in terms of the time I spend playing it - and it's already completed its first tour of duty in the camper-van!
In all seriousness, it really is a stunning wee guitar for the price.
