ive been playing for almost 3 years (15)i own a 2004 blue godin SD in blue with maple enck and fretboard. i own a 2005 discontinuted washburn dime v in camo with seymour duncan 59' zebra in the neck and a rare bill lawrence XL500 in the bridge 4 amps. 1 marshal.one crappy schaffer,a Rare Randall camo RX20MRC amp. and a 100$ pocketrockit mini amp.ive always wanted a 1952 gibson les paul or anything gibson. it has a nice sound for the money and it comes with a free hardcase for 200@ WHAT A SWEET DEAL! the cases that usually come with the guitar are pretty crappy but this one is ver durable.

Mine has a gloss sunburst finish which really is nicely done. It has a traditional dreadnought style body with no cutaway or electronics. It came with a nice Fender hardshell case. On the Fender website, it says the neck is nato, the back and sides are laminated mahogany, and the top is laminated spruce. The top looks like it has a big chunk of solid spruce sandwiched between two spruce veneers, but, that's just what it looks like to me. The neck is very thin for an acoustic, but that's a preference thing. Basically, it's an entry level acoustic. But as far as they go, this one is pretty nice. It doesn't come with a lot of bells and whisles, but it's an acoustic guitar. It shouldn't have 200 special features. Did I mention it came with a really nice case?

Compared to other guitars in it's price range, which is how I'm grading it, the Fender is a good pick. It doesn't sound like a pre-war Martin, but the MSRP is only $280 US, so you're not paying the Martin price either. I have another guitar in the same price range, a Yamaha; the Fender sounds a little brighter than the solid spruce top Yamaha. That's not a bad thing. The notes sound out clear; it's not muddy sounding. It came with coated Elixer strings from the factory. They're not my normal brand, but they sound good and haven't turned my fingers black like the Yamaha did. Great for a beginner; very good for a bargain beater guitar for the experienced musician. Remember, it's the player, not the guitar, that makes the music.

This is where the CD-60 really shines. The sunburst finish is beautiful. Fit and finish are excellent. The tuners work well. The fret ends are filed so that they don't bite your hand as you move up and down the neck. Side dots on the neck are perfectly centered and easy to see. This guitar was put together really well. The only problem I had was with the action. I received this guitar as a gift. When I took it out of it's case to play it, anything other than a light strum would cause buzzing. I checked the neck relief and sure enough, there wasn't any. A turn or two from my allen wrench on the truss rod to allow some up bow of the neck, and I was back in business. I don't have a very heavy pick attack so that fixed it for me. If you have a real heavy attack, you might need to have it adjusted by your luthier. One note, the allen wrench supplied with the guitar didn't fit in the truss rod adjusting nut in the soundhole. Not a big deal, but not what I would expect from an otherwise very classy guitar. I gave it a 9 only because of the lack of neck relief and non useable allen wrench. In theory, the instrument retailers should check for that sort of thing, but I understand that not all of them do proper set-ups on their instruments before they go out for sale. The action is low and it's one of the easiest to play acoustics out of the box that I've seen.

This guitar seems real sturdy. I think it will last long term, probably longer than most in it's price range. It's put together well and backed by one of the best names in the business.

I have no idea. I've heard Fender is easy to deal with, but I've never had a problem with their products, so I wouldn't know.

I've been playing for 13 years. It's a great guitar for the money. To take on camping trips or late night jam sessions, it can't be beat in my opinion. Plus it looks really cool with the sunburst finish. For a first guitar, you can't do much better for the money. For the experienced musician, it's a good guitar that won't break the bank or break your heart if it gets scratched or dinged up.
