Features : 8
sunburst cutaway

Sound : 9
Had it for 18 years and the sound just keeps getting better. Good range depending on what strings you use. Somewhat limited punch if you use lighter strings that are easier to play

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Beautiful finish, good factory setup. No flaws in the finish from the factory. Had a problem with string buzz, but that was because I put extra light strings on. When I switched back to light, everything was ok. Had good results with medium strings as well.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Seems very durable. Haven't had any problems with it jamming with my buddies. I've never gigged with it live but I wouldn't be worried about it if I did.

Never had to get it repaired.

I've been playing for over 20 years. I have five other guitars and this one is one of my two favorites. If I lost it I would definitely try to find something as similar to it as possible. Great action, nice tone, and the sunburst finish is very beautiful looking. Also, it was one of the very few guitars at that price range that had the white binding on the neck. I might eventually install an onboard pickup, but for now I'm very satisfied with it the way it is.

This guitar has great sound/sustain, especially considering its price. I have it strung up with Dean Markley Alchamy Lights, and it's got a beautiful, bright, cheerful sound to it. Very smooth playing guitar too. It sounds great strummed, but I also play fingerstyle and it's great for that, it's bright sounding but if you pick a certain way you can make it sound sad/wistful/etc. I write my own songs, which are folk/pop/acoustic, sort of similar to KT Tunstall and Anna Nalick. This guitar suits my music perfectly but I think it would be versatile enough to try other genres...I'm currently teaching myself to play "Candy Shop" (by 50 Cent...lol) on it. The only mildly annoying thing about it is the fact that it has somewhat sporadic overtones. Sometimes when I play fingerstyle, certain strings will give me a rich, full overtone sound, and then others will just sound flat. This probably has more to do with me than with the guitar though....

Wow. This thing has the most amazing action. Everyone who has played/looked at it compliments me on how low the action is. I could play it all night and not get tired. I tend to play a lot of songs way down the neck and my fingers never, ever hurt. As I said, I got it used, so I don't know about the factory set up. The guitar is older than me, so I wasn't around when it was made. The matching up is good, there are a few little bubbles right near the binding but that's minimal and ok with me. The nut is not fitted right but again that could have been from one of its previous owners. I purchased this guitar for a great price because of two huge scratches across the top, but for some reason they don't really detract from its overall appeal. They kind of give it character, actually.

Honestly, I have never gigged before but plan to in the near future. I think I'll buy an acoustic-electric anyway, but if I bought a pickup I would definitely gig with this thing. The hardware is original (20 years old!) and still no rusting/major wear. The finish is great, I've whacked this on various things and it usually doesn't get really scratched at all. The strap buttons hold up well and look nice. I would gig without a backup. Then again, that might be because it's my only real guitar, unless you count my starter guitar...

N/A. I've never dealt with Fender.

I've been playing for about a year. I'm 15 and I really love guitars, especially this one. I play it at home and also at church, where I play in the church band. My only other guitar is a blue New York Pro student guitar, which I'm selling (anyone interested? lol) so I can buy a Gretsch Rancher Junior. If this guitar got lost I would cry my eyes out and try to find another, which is pretty unlikely as I can't find them anywhere, not even online. My favorite feature is definitely that awesome low action. Also the sharp Florentine cutaway makes it look cool plus it gives me great fret access. I do wish it had more attractive inlays...the dots are a bit boring, but I'm just being picky. This guitar is so much fun to play and I love it to death. I am never, ever, EVER selling it. It would be cool if it had a pickup, but I'll just buy one if I need it. These are rare guitars, but if you can find one, BUY IT!!!!! You won't be disappointed!
