Purchased from: My first guitar teacher, second hand, hence it was my first guitar
A made in Germany Spanish Classical Guitar, with Nylon strings.
Top is made from Spruce, soundhole has a paper ?rozet? attached to it which is covered with a thin layer of laquer finish.
Sides and back, probably Mahogany, back is a two piece job,it?s all laminated, nothing solid here.
Laquer finish (P.U sort of varnish)holds up well, taken into consideration that we are talking more than 34 years here,
Neck is or Ash (don?t know for sure) or Mahogany (grain looks similar) fretboard is Rosewood, frets look like they used a messing containing fret wire here.
Tuners, don?t laugh, are Schallers, classical open type with plastic buttons (Cool).
My folks bought it for me in 1978.
The teacher claimed he bought it in 1970, and I have no reasons to doubt his claim.
What can I say, Framus was able to do some good at that time, no further comment cause the firm went down under?.

I remember I was very proud, the first six months I strummed along on this box with wires, but since I hated all classical crap, and discovered Rush and the Police, I quickly saved my weekend job money for a not all to decent steel 12 string acoustic Eko.
What ever got in to me at that time, hell knows, but since I wil do a review of the Eko as well (who cares anyway ?)
Just for the fun of it I restringed it recently, to give it a try .
Bummer, not bad , not good.
Lower end is quit acceptable, mid is kind of undefined, at high it isn?t sparkling, mellow. Overall balance is remarkbly good
This Framus is not able to produce loud volumes.
I would say nice to practice, within a small three bedroom flat with paper walls, or if you?re a kid without a vengeance, trying to please mum and dad it will do perfect.
Chords sounds muffled, Solo?s I wouldn?t try to hard, no definition.

Yeah, here is the reason why I switched towards high end gear, finally.
All though easy to tune (Schallers remember) the imitation ?Mother of bone? nut shows the budget factor, so does the bridge to begin with.
The action was way to high, the neck wasn?t too warped, so I did some fiddling around with my tool box ( relax, I do jobs for players with High end gear, and they still are coming back ) including replacement of the numbers 3 and 7 fret, some fret dressing, a lot of polishing of the fretboard, and the body and ?voila? Granny was as new, well make that, as good as new.
Sorry people, all though my first class handywork did make some difference in a positive way, so to speak, this is a budget guitar for a some poor bastard, or a student without a vengeance, stiff and diffecult to play in the higher regions

Okay this funky German is 34 years old and that factor allone is worth some credits.
It also deserves some credits for still being playable, the finish is a bit dull, there are some minor cracks in the laquer finish on the top, but the
Mandolin brothers would still rate this box close to near mint, but worth a buck fifty, period.
On the other side there must be zillions of budget guitars in similar condition, around the world in closets or attics, covered with dust waiting for ?God knows what?, so in a way, that doesn?t count ( like a shit car stored in some barn, or so)

Dear Aaron, don?t you want to buy mine, for a minor fee, that is ?
You seem to have a totally different view on things.
Hey, and if you want I can get you a bargain deal for a great Ford Taunus (German made)for allmost nothing (stored in a barn)! It?s the same class as the guitar, but I think you will don?t notice the difference between a Audi TT Roadster and this beautiful pale red sedan.
Okay, excuse me for my rude behaviour, but the Framus products are something from a an area that is long long gone, I will stash it in the closet again and leave it there?
