i had a gibson j-55 arch back guitar in 78. i have had nothing to date that compares to that guitars sound. although, i haven't tried or owned all the makes out there. right now playing blueridge br-180ce/fpp. it's great but in my mind not up to the j-55. while we are on discussion of gibsons...deal of the day...my friend picked up a gibson/blueridge at a local salvation army store for $5, in excellent condition. right place at the right time!!

Hi all I've just picked up a Gibson J55 1973 never sold still in its original case Gibson tickets still haging from the nuts same strings it left the factory with. In A1 codition it is a chance to test the old idea that an old guitar plays better than a new one.
First restring with D'Addario EJ26 Custom Lights and test.
Yes its true the sound is unbelivable sweet, loud, perfect ballance,
I,ve just descoverd the best guitar in the world.Of corse thats just my opinion but its that close its worth an argument with you all
