Lapatrie brand (godin) steel string dreadnought, yes, STEEL string.Very nice transparent black finish. "La Patrie" writen length- wise on the headstock. Nice no-name enclosed tuners work well.Top,Back, sides are laminated CHERRY. Mahgany neck. Buffalo horn bridge pins.(I don't know if the bridge pins were original to the guitar or not. Mine was made in 1993 in Lapatrie ,Canada by the Godin company. I contacted Godin and they said that there were only about 500 Lapatrie Steel string guitars made over a several year period from the late 80's to the early 90's.

Guitar projects very well. Very clear and fairly crisp. Nice balance in the mid and bass ranges. The sound of the cherry top reminds me of maple.

This guitar has no electronics. Very well made guitar that I'm sure will hold up for years to come.

Godin is a great company. They answered my email in about two days which impressed me very much since the people that usually answer their emails are the builders themselves.(one reason why their prices are so low on their seagull and art and luthier guitars.)

I wish the guitar had electronics in it. Other than that, I think it's great. I like the fact that there are not a lot of these out there. Makes me feel like I own something rare and very special.
