I play flat picked apreggios, finger style and heavy rhythm strumming. I do not have electronics but am considering an I beam or a Pure Western pick up. The sound is indescribable. I have owned many high end guitars but none with such a beautiful balanced sound. Fit finish, and sound are Goodalls finest attributes.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Fit is tremendous. Finish and woods are the best I have ever seen and I have visited the Collings factory.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is built to last. Goodall does not scallop his braces, from my understanding, to maintain structural integrity and still manages to get the sound.

Customer Support : 10
I sent an email about a question and they answered right away even though I bought it used.

I have been playing 30 years. My other equipment is too long to list. Martin, Taylor, Godin, Gretsch, Yamaha, Fender, Gibson, G&L ASAT. I have some top end collector guitars such as a 1961 Gretsch Chet Atkins Nashville model. All of my guitars are $1,500 and up retail.

Everyone that sees this simply says, "What a Beautiful Guitar!!!" Talk about fit and finish, it doesn't get any better than this.

Sound : 10
I'm a lefty to begin with and that made it rather a major chore to buy a high end instrument. First of all, I couldn't simply pick up much of anything lefty that was worth playing. I had to rely on other people demo'ing for me. After almost three years of shopping and listening I decided that the Goodall's had the most versatile sonic range. I play primarily fingerstyle and jumbos are not typically chosen for that. I've had this thing for 2 plus years now and I have never been disappointed with my decision. This guitar amazes me how much it amazes me! The only challenge I've had is in trying to find strings that allow this guitar to do everything it is capable of but that's a whole other story.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Factory action was satisfactory and I have yet to change it. I'd like to do a compensated saddle and slightly lower the action for a little bit of more playability.Everything else is impeccable.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This instrument with proper care will outlive me. It feels very solid and has more engineering to allow a sturdy yet extremely responive guitar.

The best! (Though I haven't needed any.

IT`S THE BEST FINGER PICKING GUITAR THAT I EVER PLAYED. IT HAS THE MOST PERFECT BALANCE OF TONE THAT I COULD FIND. I`VE TRIED THEM ALL, I MEAN THAT HONESTLY. THE HIGHS ARE VERY CRISP AND THE MIDS ARE TRUE BLUE, THE BASS IS(everyone sez this but it`s true)LIKE A GRAND PIANO. FOR PICK USERS THIS GUITAR WILL CUT THOUGH MIX WITH EASE. IT`S GREAT IN ANY GUITAR SITUATION. DON`T MISS THE CHANCE IN TRYING A GOODALL!!! IF I COULD, I WOULD GIVE IT ANOTHER 11. OH YA TRY THE TUNE CLASSICAL GAS WITH THIS GUITAR, PEOPLES JAW WILL DROP.

I`VE BEEN PLAYING FOR 20 YEARS OR SO, I`VE OWNED A 814B(BRAZILIAN)TAYLOR AND 1972 GIBSON GOSPEL, WHICH WERE GREAT GUITARS. I`VE TESTED SIDE BY SIDE, BACK AND FORTH TAYLORS,MARTINS,LARIVEES,COLLINGS, SANTA CRUZS,LOWDENS,TIPPINS,AND A FEW OTHERE HIGH END GUITARS. THE GUITAR THAT CAME CLOSEST TO THE GOODALL WAS SANTA CRUZS. THE GOODALL WAS THE BEST ALL AROUND IN MY EARS.

New, handmade. Rosewood back and sides, spruce top, big jumbo body. Some pearl around soundhole, wood bindings (look like koa). Goodall has an incredible reputation, and this lives up to it. Beautiful, tasteful.

Sound : 10
Phenomenal. There's really no other word. I'd been curious about this model, played a few Goodall standards, a couple maple jumbos, all very nice guitars, but was actually leaning toward a Collings D2 when I walked into the shop that had this. Picked it up and that was all she wrote. The power of this guitar is amazing. The sound is punchy, full, rich. I'm partial to bass, much prefer rosewood over maple, but worried that a rosewood jumbo might be too boomy or muddy. Not in the least. People go on about "grand piano bass" but it's realy not much of an exaggeration. However, the sound is still incredibly balanced. If you're partial to brightness, this may not be your sound, but for me it's the perfect blend. There's top, there's middle, there's this unbelievable bass all articulated, all wonderfully clear...it's the finest strumming flattop I've ever played. If you're looking for something to accompany yourself with, you've got to try this. I compared it in the store to a couple Collings, Martins, whatever else was around. They all sounded like they were some other kind of instrument -- pinched, small in comparison. And these are terrific guitars. It's fine for fingerstyle, but if that's your primary requirement, you're probably not looking at a jumbo. And if you're in a bluesgrass band, this might not be for you either. But if you strum, you owe it to yourself to check this one out.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The neck is somewhat wider than typical, good-feeling (I have large hands) with nice, comfortable action -- easier playing than a Martin, not so easy as a Taylor. Very nice-playing. Again, beautifully handmade -- top quality as befits its premium reputation and price.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Only had it a month, but no reason to think there'd be a problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know, hope never to find out.

Overall Rating : 10
As I said, this is the perfect guitar for me. God knows tone is completely subjective, but if you're in the market for a premium guitar, try and track one of these down. (Easier said than done, I know. Small maker, not a ton of output, or dealer outlets.) I think it's the current king of the hill. Expensive, but in all respects worth it. Goodall deserves all the praise they get. This is really something special.
