Large dreadnaught style guitar [like a MARTIN D-35 with very nice MOP neck inlay], spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard. IT looks like a Martin D-35- made in Korea, with inlaid neck, great binding, nice tuners, nice high gloss finish. I've never heard of a GOYA made by MARTIN, but it seems Martin bought out Goya and started to make knock-offs of better Martins in the far east. THEY are just like the sigma line and were discontinued in the mid 90s. Mine was made about 1992. [It has the strange model number G335- but it not a gibson electric!]

Sound : 8
Sounds GREAT. BIG MARTIN SOUND, it sounds as good as any MARTIN SIGMA I've played and just as good as some low end martins.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Fit and finish 1st rate. it needed some fret work and around fret #12 is a bit high in action.

Reliability/Durability : 9
HOLDS UP really well. it didnt come with a case, so i had to get one. Everything else is VERY solid. Gold Hardware is holding up well. FIT AND FINISH is 1st rate. Very dependable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
GOYA is gone, and so is MARTIN BY GOYA, I'm sure all martin parts would retrofit. and IF I sent it to martin I'm sure they could fix it. i bought it used in a flea-market for $150, so no warrenty is applied.

GREAT GUITAR. I play bluegrass [35 years-sometimes on guitar] and I needed a good bluegrass guitar. THIS one is great. LOVE THAT BIG MARTIN BOOMY BASSY SOUND. It is very well made. It must have been a premium guitar at one time. but haveing both SIGMA and GOYA/Martin lines in competition sees stupid. SO the goya was discontined. I think it was going to be an intermediate line between SIGMA and MARTIN. REPLACE IT, I'VE never seen another? My daughter actually found this in a flea market and called me, Said she was buying a MARTIN for me.
