I don't know what year it was made, maybe sometime in the 60's. It has 19 frets. I would say medium frets. It is a small sized guitar, about the size of a classical or 3/4 size. It is almost toy-like. It is not for serious playing.
Sound

It sounds like a small box with guitar strings on it. The sound is nothing to write home about. However I only paid $7.50 plus $17.50 shipping, so I can't complain.
I think that it is on a par with an Epiphone PR150 as far as sound goes, but not as loud.
I play a little of every style of music. I like it because I can sit on the couch and PLUNK on it. I bought it to take along for practice when I went somewhere. I would not suggest this as a beginning instrument, because the sound is not good, and I don't think it would be easy for a beginner to play.
I have put electric strings on it to lower the action and make it easier to play, but I don't think acoustic strings would make it sound better.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action is low (for an acoustic.) I put light electric strings on it because the guitar only had 2 on it when I bought it, and I thought it would make the playing easier. I had to reglue the nut at the neck.
It has a stained finish and has lasted well, though there are many dings in it. The bridge is plastic set in wood, and the tail piece is metal.

I think it is very durable and has lasted a long time.

I own a Cameo acoustic, B.C.Rich Warlock, Fender strat, Joe Pass Emperor, and an Ovation Celebrity Deluxe.
I bought this on Ebay for a song, it is better than I thought it would be. I should not drink beer and bid on guitars. I would probably not buy another guitar like this.
I have been playing off and on since I was 6. I play for self enjoyment. My favorite feature is its size and finish. I don't like its sound. I once owned an Epi PR150 and would say the Gremlin does not sound much worse.
